EDIT: In the middle of getting all my stuff updated after a factory reset, so will pick apart things later. However, one thing I wanted to ask about business know-how, if we lowered some X tax rate in order to "make businesses hire people" or to "bring jobs back home" wouldn't the corps just pocket the saved money and call it a day?

Honest question. Might be cynical of me, but meh.

@Fanta: They would either hire / pocket extra money / other based on what would bring them money, in either the long or short term. A problem with publicly traded companies is that long term growth and profit is not always a priority due to a need to impress shareholders and prospective investors. So that's when companies make the short sighted bandaid-for-bullet wound decisions that result in immediate gains but are usually by and large shitty decisions.

If I get shitty service at a restaurant, I don't eat there. What you guys are doing by voting for the lesser of the two evils is gobbling up a load of shit on a silver platter served by a restaurant that doesn't value your business.
