Because it's a popular game and they didn't release a million servers only to have half of them underpopulated for all eternity. For the first week or two you can have free transfers so just pick a home and move when you find the opportunity.

am I the only one with no interest in guild wars 2?

I'm not sure if there's something wrong with the game (probably not)

or if I just don't want to let myself get into another MMO (I believe this is most likely)

or if I can't seem to find the gnome warlock option?
