I'm happy I stopped drinking a couple hours ago, otherwise my screen would be ruined with beer.

O'Connor led SCOTUS to decide to not count the votes and arbitrarily hand the election to Bush. SCOTUS's job is to decide what the law is, not decide who the president is. Nothing in the law, short of counting the votes, establishes a legal basis for SCOTUS or anyone else to do so.

And now she's on their payroll. Go figure. Blabber about chads is moot. Ohio was probably stolen in the elections going back to 2000, and Gore won the popular vote anyway.

Nothing ACORN did was unusual or comparable to giving weapons to terrorists or stealing votes outright. Prostitution and money laundering are to be expected in any situation where large sums of money are involved, and doesn't have anything to do with political malfeasance. The US isn't worse off for anything ACORN did.

Starting wars and killing innocent people and doing absolutely evil things like arming drug lords and giving pesticides to Saddam to kill Iranian women and children, and then giving Iranian terrorists weapons to kill American soldiers (they may be trash but they're our trash), with the intent to deny both countries a future so we can steal their resources, is completely out of the ballpark compared to what any Dem-affiliated cause has done.

Fanatical support for corporations and the military has brought this country low. Affirmative action and feminism are nuisances by comparison, issues that most countries are grasping with to some extent, but it's only countries like China, Russia and the US that are also dealing with the former issues that are really at risk of going under.

The GOP since Reagan and the hijacking of the party by extreme far right fringe has been the ruin of this country. Finding the odd example of Dems doing bad stuff doesn't change that.

You don't like hearing this. You go into your trashy little hissy fits when you hear it. It's true no matter how many times I say it or how much you say you don't like hearing it. You argue like an uneducated person. You talk in vagaries and turn the odd Googled exception into the rule because you're too uneducated to have a broad frame of reference and think critically. This has nothing to do with your base intelligence level or whether you attended college or not. It has everything to do with your mental habits and way of life.

Part of me wants Romney to win, because then I'll be able to rub it in Eturnal and others' face when shit is way worse 4 years from now.

But I just know they'll come up with some excuses how it was all the Dems fault regardless. I also like how Republicans get selective amnesia when you talk about how Bush fucked things up...it's like he was just this one bad apple and not par for the course.

Saying that bush fucked things up is selective memory. He was part of what fucked things up.

Michele Bachmann and Jim Graves were on NPR for 5-10 minutes or something and abortion came up. GOD WILLS IT is the why abortion is bad, including rape babies. I thought you would like to know.

Bachmann mostly. And she would not shut the fuck up about how 'I haven't changed position in over 40 years and I agree with the catholic churches stance'. Could not answer any question yes or no. I had to change the station. It's already enough that every 6th commercial is a negative campaign ad against one or the other on TV. There is no winning option really.

Three trillion dollars.

And that's just Iraq. In defense of the wording in your post though, you're right. Bush #1 and Reagan also massively fucked things up.

What I mean is, Bush and his congresses fucked things up. President cant' do anything without congress.

And let's not compare trillions between bush and obama.

I heard a Gary Johnson campaign ad using Ron Paul lines/quotes a few days ago. And is anyone actually surprised by this? I don't mean political lies, I mean Romney being extra retarded.

Both sides are lying their asses off. That's what the political climate has become.

I just think Romney is turning it into a damn art form.

He started as a super hardcore conservative when he was trying to get the Republican nomination...and in the last month has somehow seen the light and has become this moderate bi-partisan philanthropist. It's absurd.

My problem is that it seems no one on the right wants to admit that Obama inherited a fucking awful situation that simply couldn't be fixed in 4 years.

George Bush had congress in his back pocket for many years...and they very much created the mess Obama inherited.

But, it's selective memory...all the mistakes of the Bush years have become Obama's fault. The fact that the Economy was set up to shit the bed is Obama's fault.

Have Obama's policies worked? Some have, some haven't. But the fact that we didn't dive into a full blown depression, and ended 2 wars just isn't enough.

Most are hard to their side during primaries and float towards the center during generals.

You don't have to sway independents. With maybe the exception of a few states that let independents vote in primaries (or maybe there's only one - NH).

Romney's record has been pretty all over the place though.

I think Mittens dropped the ball there, in a bad state to do it in. We'll see though.
