I'm unclear of the timeline. A good handful of BH guilds killed C'Thun, but several of them had transferred to either Mug'thol or Cho'gall by the time they were that far into progression.

Off the top of my head: For Great Justice (formerly Sock Puppets), Vae Victus, Cryptic Union + Vae Victus merger, Death Wish, Crimson Eclipse, Death Monkey, Elite Chaos, and I'm fairly certain Blades of Penance and Basher Inc. Maybe even Royal Militia. Probably some more that I can't remember.

Sock Puppets! Deroth! I know of that guy, master of AV right? I also remember drooling at the sight of the rogues of Death Monkey and Team Awesome (Champion Merias? I think he had Thunderfury).

Really? I like BH history. I was about a year late when I started playing, but I managed to learn a smidge about the happenings at the higher levels. I always like hearing more though, and you and Tuhl seem to be the best go-to guys.

well i mean, people killed him but it was small. if i remember right there were less then 100 guilds who killed Kel'Thuzad before BC, and most people put Cthun on the same level as KT, if not harder, though you could go back to AQ and use gear from Naxx, which was horrendously overpowered at the time. i think i was still using a trinket off Maexxna when we were in sunwell. i don't know if anyone on BH had killed C'thun though since i was raiding elsewhere.

just too many cockblocks to have a lot of guilds that far progressed back in the day. not only did you have to have people actually stick together long enough to get that far, but some of the bosses were brick walls of absurd levels. a lot of people like to look back at vanilla Naxx and say how 4 HORSEMEN SO UNFAIR without realizing that most guilds couldn't even get to them due to Gothik the Harvester.

Deroth was in Team Awesome, but he merged his guild with Sock Puppets (and the result was For Great Justice) when they moved to Mug'thol. Those nerds were one of the earlier KT kills.

Deroth himself was a good leader but a personally mediocre warrior. Not that he was in a leadership position post-merger.

Merias had a Thunderfury and was a decent rogue, though he had a bad habit of losing to undergeared mace-combat rogues.

as I recall most of the pve guild rogues were more gear than skill.

the notches I had in my glass bottle can attest to that.

T3 took coordination and an optimal rotation, which is the extent of "skill" in PvE. I'm not marginalizing it, but the fights are the same every time and no critical thinking is required.

Mind you, PvP has largely devolved into macro-spam so the difference is less clear than it was during, say, TBC.

I'm bad at clarification tonight. I meant having t3 in pvp meant you didn't need skill.

I'm pretty sure BoP, Basher and RM all killed C'Thun.

I'm aware that I have been absent for some month, yes, it's true. I am still around and existing, though not on the forums as much. Summer, work, and the outside (fresh air? bugs?! NO WAI) are all things I enjoy, thus my lack of computer time.

It recently came to my attention through a well placed ad, and bookmark on my Chrome, that I could DL and play the first few missions of SC2 on my computer, after previously thinking I couldn't. Well, play it I did, and enjoyed it as well!

Now I'm looking at the screen and trying to decide if 60 bucks is worth it (probably not), or if anyone has an old game key I can use.

Anyway, happy summer. I love you all.
