I felt compelled to install it just to get the promotional hat. Just in case.

I've heard mixed things about this game. Is it worth the $15 a night?

Are you just trying to out-witty me, or did things not work out with that chick with the tent?

It's WoW leveling with "action combat" that roots you in place to use 99% of abilities. Action meaning you have to aim your fireballs like you would in an FPS game, but I'm not sure if leading is required or not. Made on a decent engine but everything is plastic or metallic looking. And you can play as the little girl you've always wanted to be with their perma-stoned face. Or fap to boobs. Population is probably weak at best now.

I tried Tera a bit. The action combat is decent and the graphics are unequivocally marvelous (especially the amazing boob physics, if it were a virtual sex game it would be worth billions), but I'm not sure if the gameplay is fluid enough. Hard to tell since the background downloader was still running. Community appears bad, story/characters/immersion is horrible. The story is pretty much on par with a mediocre pornograph. The intro was a stupid ripoff of the Final Fantasy VII Nibelheim flashback and the followup felt like it was written by a 16-year-old Korean who saw half of a Wagner opera. Still, what I hear is, the gameplay and raiding are actually decent.

...I really don't understand why they don't license the Tera game engine to make a virtual sex game.
Like, a good one.

Tried Rift a bit. I was amused that there is actually a race based on the Sephardim, complete with the type of circlet and robes their women traditionally wear. I can't remember any other time those people appeared as an influence for a game element (Aerith was based on the Ashkenazi). The plot seems a pretty lame portmanteau of Mass Effect and Final Fantasy VI. The graphics are inexcusably bad and the animations are clunky.

The reason I am going through these MMOs is to collect Raptr rewards. I do this only because I am extremely OCD and have a serious inability to deal with *doors closing behind me*. This aspect of my psychology is also a major reason I am so driven to acquire unique, artisan items from thrift shops.

Tera is made with Unreal Engine 3 which anyone can use I think.

I've rekindled my love for SWTOR. It reminds me of TBC in so many ways.
The trash in instances is well, trash. The bosses actually pose a challenge.
We wiped on the final boss of one several times before we finally won due to very slight changes in strategy and execution.
Oh and the new Adaptive Armor is pretty awesome.

EA > Activision.
It's more like a clone of 2.x WoW.
When it goes F2P next week, you should try it.

I can level alts when I get back from SoCal this week!

SWToR was fun to level in. I never pretended for an instant that I would care about endgame, which is why I quit after hitting 50.

It's basically a real RPG you can play with a few friends (leveling storyline, dialog system), stapled onto a decent-but-not-exceptional WoW clone.

Yeah, especially that time Activision deleted the "unsubscribe" button from their website the day that the free month of play for everyone who started on day 1 ended, thus milking $15 out of hundreds of people who didn't want to play anymore.

Wait, wrong company.

Intentional removal never actually happened.
I know this because I had one, I checked immediately after you typed that first post about it.
So EA > Activision.
