I liked it too but I've sold out to corporate interests so that I can better provide for my boys, so I had to shave it. gg

My father - all the males in my family except my brother and cousin, actually - have facial hair. My father in particular has a short but shaggy, badly kept, poorly defined beard of black, white and grey hair, covering his cheeks and gathering in a clump on his chin. It makes him look like a homeless person, and I believe that it exerts a strong negative force in his life (and by extension mine). I have never seen him wash or tend it, and I don't believe he does at all.

For the longest time, I myself didn't actually know how to shave properly, and only began to do so about five years ago, after my nervous breakdown ended (which left my personality permanently changed, for the better, actually - I lost a lot of my teenage awkwardness, and in retrospect I believe that period, as damaging as it was, to be a necessary stage in my development).

As it stands, I am completely addicted to shaving. I can't go without shaving for more than a day or so without unbearable itching. A beard is unthinkable for me.

Aestu, you should look into straight razor shaving. You have an appreciation for secondhand items and are environmentally conscious. It seems like something that would go well with your lifestyle and priorities. A nice straight razor can go for like $500+, where an entry razor might go for $100+. Blades can be resharpened and it eliminates the need for cartridges, repeat trips to the store, packaging from cartridges etc.
