If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little.

Define great.

Full medium default settings at 2560x1440 it runs way worse than BF3 which is a joke considering there is almost zero effects and such.

between 40-60 fps in firefights, running on medium-low.

http://www.enclaveoilrig.com has a couple tweaks you can change in the installation folder to help, its on the front page.

if you're using anything AMD, it runs like complete dog shit, at least for everyone in our group. by that i mean it's still playable but it should definitely not run like this, especially on lower settings.

also i think i'm pretty much stuck as a medic forever.

Well that's retarded. Someone on Steam forums mentioned some performance patch so I'll wait for that I guess.

My comp is pretty craptastic(and AMD based) at this point and I haven't seen any gameplay issues(do you guys have the horror that is "bulldozer") ?

Comp:
AMD Phenom II x4 955 (quad 3.2)
4GB DDR2 ram(1066)
Nvidia GTX 560 Ti (not to bad >.>)

My in game settings:
Fullscreen Windowed
"Vertical field of view" 55 (standard)
Everything on "high" other than Shadow Quality which is "medium" and fog shadows, motion blur and ambient occlusion "off". All of which also says "standard". Is everyone's "standard" different ?

My actual thoughts of the game...

Vehicles seem VERY important for overrunning bases and also pretty much impervious to regular bullets, kinda annoying since I'm not a huge fan of vech combat.

Snipers seem kinda gimpy, wasn't able to get any one shot one kills. Seemed to take a minimum of like 3 headshots at max range, not sure if the dmg goes up if you are closer(or closer to the center of the head as its hard to tell where you hit someone other than trusting the red X's) but if I got much inside max range other class's fucked me up(or airplanes...I am not a fan of the airplanes).

Medic is pretty cool, starter full auto gun holds a good pattern when burst fireing and healing people is always good.

Really hard to tell where bullets are coming from(that hit you), especially when you are moving and it would be nice to get clued in to where the guy who just killed you is.

I get the feeling that these big battles are 1k times more fun when you have 30+ dudes on your team(and in communication with you). I don't think I will ever have enough time to commit to the game to be in a big active guild(unit what ever) :[.

Are the purchasable items cosmetic or beneficial ? Do you get point via ingame interaction or just from $$ ? I only played for a few hours but I got more used to the game towards the end and got some kills and helped capture some bases, I leveled up a couple times I think(says 3 next to my duder at the login), not sure what that really gives me...

Vehicles are useful for various reasons, though you can totally get away with never using tanks since you can't actually cap bases with tanks. Sunderers are essential on the other hand, since they can become mobile spawn points. Basically a necessity for any real engagement where the other side gives a damn about defending. Everything except the faction-specific aerial interceptor and the flash (the dune buggy) is immune to small-arms, but the Heavy Assault default rocket launcher is just fine for Taliban-style anti-tank warfare.

Your sniper issues may be because of your faction. Are you playing Vanu? Their guns deal less damage the further the target, to counterbalance the fact that they fire lasers and have no bullet drop.

As for the time concerns, you don't really have to commit real time even if you're in a big outfit (guild) because they should have a stable enough roster to field mans regardless of availability.

Not to keep harping The Enclave, but I play maybe one or two nights a week and I've never felt like an outsider. Play when you want, not because someone says you have to. There's always a squad open.

bolt action sniper rifles are one shot headshot kills, of which only the NC has a default bolt action.

you can purchase bolt actions on VS and TR with certs or station cash.

Personally I find sniping to be useless shit anyway, so i never bother with it. heavy assault with grip/2x scope/compensator/high velocity ammo is god mode if you can control your recoil.

It's probably AMD graphic card related, and since I have a 7970 that fits the bill.

Pleasantly surprised by this game.

Will certainly be a good occasional play type.
