I think the correct answer to that line of questioning is that you neither know nor care if it feels pain, and you're only asserting the central nervous system argument to placate the sort of squeamish people who would ask how you know the oyster isn't suffering, because to be completely honest you don't give a fuck about the oyster or you wouldn't be devouring it in the first place.
