I want Ethan to find his reason for existing and get moving on it. I don't want him to end up like me, just marking time and trying to stay comfortable and fulfilling obligations until he dies, but I don't want him offing himself, either.

I want some of you who are squeamish about guns to come visit and go shooting with my roommates at some point.

I want a woman to spend time with who doesn't have any of the issues that women I've attempted to date in the last few years have had.

I should buy a boat.

I may have to get addresses from some of you to send you things if I have enough of the things I'm sending to people. I may hit some of you up for that soon. My Christmas mailings are all going out late this year.

Fuck Salt.

Your Pal,
Jubber

The "why" is easy, the "how" is not.

How much do you know about Navy commissions?

don't you guys have like 50% maori population? Just convince them to raise chickens and grow watermelons instead of being fishermen

Being a fisherman would be an improvement over what a lot of them are doing now, stealing.

THAT'S RACIST!

Ethan, you should just call a recruiting office and tell them you have a degree and are interested in a commission.

tbh I'm not sure Staters understand just how different the Maori situation is.

Spoilers: They're what would've happened to us if the Native Americans had cut better deals and were a way larger % of the population.

60-80 years is a split second on the cosmic scale. The Universe blinks and you're gone. Tough it out for 60-80 years, you'll never have to do it again.

Throw it away now, you'll never have to do it again. I can think of lots of reasons to live or to give up on life as well.

My reasons in favor of or against are different than yours and anyone else's.

When you guys make it this easy, I refuse to follow up with my usual hilarious and inappropriate comments.

What kind of puppy? You should look into a shelter/rescue pet.

Haha! Well, any kind of dog. And definitely rescue! If I had a big home I'd probably want 3.

You should get one for yourself if you can afford the fees, and some shelters do discounts at different times of the year (the SPCA here does at least one week a year where they cut the adoption fees in half). I don't have the kind of time/schedule necessary for a pet. It might be nice to have some fish again. My son has a small dog at his mother's house. He was attacked by a larger dog when he was little and dogs really freak him out, so I wasn't sure that was going to work out. Fortunately, it seems to have killed a lot of his anxiety about dogs. The dog came from an abusive home and is more skittish about CJ than CJ is about the dog. The poor thing won't even play fetch or chase a ball. If you throw a ball, it freaks out and runs in the other direction.

Jubber

i currnetly live in a 1bdrm and find the idea of having a dog just rude to those around me
especially because my direct neighbors have two
and they get startled easily when they're alone

I don't mind when other people have pets, but I don't like the idea of having any of my own.

As such, I fully encourage your puppy-wanting habits, Fiora.
