I wish I could budget well on Mint but it double counts a lot of my purchases and it's time consuming to fix it all.

Netflix and wow are both excellent entertainment bargains that save far more than they cost, for the reason that they provide a large volume (time) of entertainment for a low cost. When you are playing wow or watching netflix you are not spending money in any other way.

The other half of callysta's advice is very sound. Buying things piecemeal at cvs is a horrible bargain. You are better off buying what you need in vast bulk at smartnfinal, samsclub, or your local china stores. Many china stores are located discreetly, not facing the street, so there may be one nearer you than you think. I also recommend the bargain aisle at target.

I find that I can find most content online elsewhere for free. I watch Netflix occasionally using my MIL's sub. I wouldn't pay for it though. Maybe he can share a sub with someone? Cut that down to $4.

Dollars count, and so does shopping smart. Your phone bill seems REALLY high, but since you just upgraded you are unlikely to be able to do much about that.

You should probably do things like learn how to cook and not be dumb before you start haggling people for $4 a month for Netflix.

EDIT: This is directed at Euphonic, by the way.

This.

One thing I'll say for WoW, or Netflix...is that if you're paying what $15 bucks a month...for hours upon hours of entertainment...think about how much that would cost you if you were going to a bar and drinking...or if you were actually going to a movie at a theatre.

I took my gf to the movies the other day, over $20 just for the damn tickets. Was much better when we stayed at home the other night and watched Super 8 on Netflix for a fraction of the cost. I have a projector TV too so booyeah....only thing missing the the THX experience.

You spend more on food than I do in fucking rent.

It costs me ~35 a week for food.

That doesn't involve skipping meals, involves luxury items (coffee, etc), involves buying with nutrition in mind (no ramen or anything like that) and involves copious amounts of meat and fresh produce (though I get a lot more frozen produce).

Well, site blows because I don't use my card everywhere, but

~$2200 income

400 - Rent
400 - Student loans
180 - Fuel

No idea what I spend on food but I'm guessing $50 per week with my Friday/Saturday Dominos and weekly case of Mountain Dew included. I've been buying a lot of computer hardware lately though and looking to get a better sound setup than the 10 year old Walmart brand kit I got from my first job (taking recommendations, spending $600+ counting sub). But really, how the fuck do you spend that much on food every month?

I have an Associates degree in programming. Looking back it wasn't a good investment of money, but because of it I have a pretty good job and it will only get better each year. Plus Union benefits and such.

If you aren't trying to limit your spending on food it's very easy to spend $500+ per month. Go out to a restaurant with one other person and it can easily be over $100. One thing I recommend if you are having trouble with extra spending in a particular discretionary category is to set aside a set amount for that category per month and only pay for it using cash. Pay for all your normal expenses with CC to gain credit etc. This works well for me and makes it so I can limit the discretionary stuff.

I don't need to agree with everything, even anything, to spam RON PAUL to get Aestu replies.

This is kinda what I do. Grab $100 from the ATM and when it's gone oh well unless I need more gas.
