I have an Associates degree in programming. Looking back it wasn't a good investment of money, but because of it I have a pretty good job and it will only get better each year. Plus Union benefits and such.

We have the same degree, hi5

Dollars count, and so does shopping smart. Your phone bill seems REALLY high, but since you just upgraded you are unlikely to be able to do much about that.

My thing is that I watch my favorite show on Netflix. Netflix does keep track of what shows are streamed/how many times, etc. This IS fed back to the network it is on. If everyone just watched for free online, shit would be cancelled SO FAST.

Paying for content is good.

What i object to is this bs of media outlets contriving to endlessly extend copyrights so content created 75 years ago doesnt enter public domain and they can keep harassing distributors into perpetuity. Are they still going to be pulling this same crap about people hosting recordings of movies and TV from the 1950s in the 2050s? The 2100s? 2200s? Where does it end? Give me a fuckin break.

You spend more on food than I do in fucking rent.

It costs me ~35 a week for food.

That doesn't involve skipping meals, involves luxury items (coffee, etc), involves buying with nutrition in mind (no ramen or anything like that) and involves copious amounts of meat and fresh produce (though I get a lot more frozen produce).

What are some of the things you buy, like what do your groceries consist of?

That's not solo, and they live in a backwater state away from the coasts; you live in pseudo-metropolitan Maryland.

Ask me about rent near me. Do it.

It's always funny when people from NYC visit my place in Chicago and assume I'm paying like 4-5k a month.

I love roommates. 450 a month for a room in a fairly large house 5 minutes from downtown.

I have a roommate.

He doesn't pay rent, makes me feed him and clean up his shit, and sometimes vomits on the carpet.

He's a bad roommate.

I miss when I lived in a nice suburban upper class apartment in college for $430/month alone. :(
