30 years ago, my paternal grandfather was invited to a parade in Egypt, celebrating their "victory" over Israel in the Yom Kippur War. It was one of many diplomatic functions to which he, as head of the E-2C Hawkeye project, was invited to "hawk the Hawkeye". He respectfully declined the invitation.

Anwar Sadat, president of Egypt, sat alongside his entourage, watching the tanks and infantry file by on parade. A personnel carrier pulled up. Dozens of insurgents poured out and sprayed the stage with gunfire. Minutes later, Sadat and several members of his entourage - including my grandfather's replacement - lay dead, their bodies gruesomely deformed by many wounds.

It's possible that my grandfather was genuinely miffed at the invitation. It's also possible he was tipped off. Not much escapes the notice of the Mossad (except massive Arab sneak attacks, of course), and although as a rule they never share their knowledge of imminent events (e.g, the Lebanon barracks bombing) with their American "allies", they generally don't allow fellow Jews to come to harm. We may never know the truth.

Anyway, whether you are genuinely busy, or, in true Azelma character, merely looking to avoid a similar fate, is all the same to me. If you don't feel you can "make it", that is fine; I would just as soon not be kept waiting.

Haha duly noted. It really is a matter of what needs to be done work wise.....if I disappear from the office for 2 hours, I need to make sure I'm not doing so at the expense of my employees or the business itself. It may surprise you that I don't take pleasure in the idea of telling someone "you deal with it, I'm going to lunch...be back at 3"

Edit: How about I let you know by friday :P

Depends on whether a trip to Vegas is involved. And yes that works.

So it doesn't look like I'll be able to get away from work that long during the day on Tuesday :*(

If you end up coming back to Chicago at a later date, or staying over a night, do let me know and we can meet up. It's a great enough town you should take a pleasure visit sometime anyway.

I still need a cosign.

Azelma, Dotzilla, could i meet up with either of you on Thursday in Chicago or Madison? I'll tip if necessary. Would be immensely helpful

Hey Aestu, I love you man...but I would probably tell my own sister no if she asked me to cosign on a lease.

http://www.mint.com/blog/credit/should- ... n-a-lease/

The issue is really about tying my credit to yours. If you miss a payment, my credit will get dinged, the landlord will come after me for the payments....couple that with the fact that it's out of state I've never even met you in person it's just not something I'm personally comfortable with.

Perhaps Dotzilla won't have these reservations....is there anyone else you could go to? What about your brother?

Ask for help.

Berate people for saying no.

No one in their right mind would tie their credit to some unemployed stranger, and you're a fool to think otherwise.
