since when is cloth paper not paper?
u guys is weird

Interesting about the all money is still legal tender thing. I remember taking a bag of 5c coins to the bank in exchange for a few gold ones. Good tiems.

Oooh, i remember when the gold coins came in too to replace the notes. It was... it was really jarring but the fact we had GOLD coins was like really cool an exciting. Of course i was a kid so this must have happened in the very early 90s, i'm a wiki that shit. Yeah, early 1991. I remember spending them on fush n chups up at the shop by the school.

The real reason for you guys not liking dollar coins is because of strippers.

Pennies are now made with zinc, iirc.

You can tell which is which if you flick them. Copper pennies make a nice ringing sound, whereas the zinc ones make a dull, almost thud-like sound.

Also, I have a 1909 Wheat cent. Am proud.

I think I mentioned this...in 2010, they tore up the front of the UMass Boston library during construction there. Apparently, a Canadian had visited the campus while the library was first being constructed, and dropped a coin that had now been unearthed by the demolition - a 1942 Canadian penny, featuring the likeness of King George VI. I pocketed the penny. I still have it, in a clay pot, in a box en route to Cincinnati.

I have some interesting coins in my collection. Hundreds of silver dimes, steel pennies, golden eagles and coronets. My great grandfather worked at the mint and his bonuses each year were coins. Most of the things I have are merely coins passed to me from my grandfather.

My kids collect change in an eerily similar way to me :p

They make gold dollars. They see very little use, I remember alot of vending machines getting fitted with the ability to accept them. You don't see it as much as you used to.

I use them during Ren Fest.

I don't know about anyone else, but I didn't use the gold $1 coins because they were like a novelty item. They sat in my wallet or jewelry box until I absolutely had to use them, much like my $2 bills. But also, I already hate coins. They make noise in your purse or pocket, they're heavier than paper bills, and they're less convenient because of gravity D:

The first living thing to go through the device was a small white rat. I still have him, in fact. As you can see, the damage was not so great as they say.
