In what many renowned economic and political theorists are calling a "shocking and unexpected turn of events," Cypriots are vilifying and raging at the German people while accepting a large sum of money on the condition that they stop fucking mismanaging it this time. In no way can any parallels be drawn to another Southern European country that existed far beyond its means for nearly a decade, and this is definitely 100% German and French bankers' faults.

Yeah, pissed off people often point their fingers in the wrong directions. I thought many of the problems Cyprus had was due to its close physical/economic proximity to Greece. Still, it was pretty fucked up how many other countries got a "freebie" bailout before it was demanded that Cypriots hand over chunks of their own cash to shore up their nation's banking (which honestly was probably the right way to go and should have been done in Greece and other bailed out countries). It wouldn't be an issue except that Cyprus is full of expat retirees from places like the UK and Australia who are being screwed because no one properly regulated banks (and Russian mobsters).

Too bad they don't have "too big to fail" in Europe, amirite?
