Are you stuck in the past and wish 2008 never happened? Do you want to play the same game you played almost 6 years ago only this time with more russians and polish people and no excitement of learning shit for the first time?

Then you might be interested in Corecraft. A project aimed at recreating TBC to be as retail like as possible.

"But private servers are a ton of shit and are either buggy or stray too far from the original concept of the game. Plus people just buy all their gear from these things anyway!," you say. Normally yes, but this server seems to be shaping up to be something different. Or rather, its shaping up to be the same shit you've already played. They have been developing the server for over a year now going over every quest, zone, spell, talent, boss, raid, ect they can to make sure things remain as similar as they were in retail. They seem pretty dedicated and since they are not asking for anything in return I've been checking in now and then.

The server is not out yet, and probably will not be until winter or early next year, but I thought I would post the link for anyone interested. I will probably roll a toon, hit 70 and quit once I remember everything I hated about BC. Or not, who knows?

"Oh boy a TBC server"

"Holy shit fucking MACE STUNS I DON'T REMEMBER THEM BEING THIS FUCKING RETARDED"

And that was the end of that one.

Made an account, but will probably stick to RIFT until the release. Likely rolling....uh shoot, prolly a drooid considering that was one of the few things leveled.

On another note...dude Rift's Xpac is like the Broodwich from ATF:

Would prefer an actual time machine to revisit WoW's glory days.

Interesting concept nonetheless.

Here's my problem with Rift. Their only argument (aside from the recent F2P change)... "we're not WoW"

"we're not WoW" just isn't a compelling enough argument for an MMO.

it'll be like all the vanilla servers, 70% warriors and zero healers.

actually scriptcraft was all undead rogues and night elf hunters, and just like vanilla, all of them were beyond terrible. some guy named buddhist, who i guess was important or made videos or something back in the day died to me repeatedly and raged a few times on vent. it was pretty good.

Don't forget the shadow priests

If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little.

Rift is surprisingly good. Follows the EVERYTHING IS FREE model of the game:

Things that aren't free:
Expansion classes....which are meh
Selling at the AH.... until you make at least a $5 purchase.

4 Classes and every class has a tank spec, a dps and a support spec....so yes you can mage tank, or rogue heal as a bard.
Full of new people and the mechanics are simple. Basically imagine vanilla WoW, if you can figure out how to not stand in fire which 1 shots you, you'll go places kid.

Plays like a mix between GW2 (Open world events out the wazoo that give boatloads of EXP) mixed with the quest grind of WoW. The expac drops a ton of quests for a more FIND SHIT AS YOU GO playstyle, meaning every unique mob has a quest behind it that chains and chains and chains.

51 cleric atm on Necropolis (brand new realm) and Luci is a big fat jerk who stopped playing and doesn't wanna get married....oh yeah you can marry dude characters to dude characters
