What've I missed?

Haven't had the urge to play any games in a very long time, WoW really just burned me out on all of that, however I'm considering finding a new replacement for Netflix.

Anyone have recommendations for games worth playing? I've got an hour of time I could devote to it any given night, but would prefer something social. I have wii/ps3 games, but I really hate console stuff and again, there's zero social aspect there.

I heard good things about Planetside2, but not sure what hamster wheel looks like. I really don't want to have to level to unlock the real game, though I'm not sure this applies to the aforementioned.

Thanks in advance :)

To clarify... crispy fried tampons is "not good" correct?

edit: Day Z standalone looks great, but it is perpetually just around the corner.

PS2 was fun in beta, and was fun for maybe a month or two out of release, but has since become bad and stupid.

I'm still playing Pandas but that's because I have a regular raid group and we're actually good at the game, so admittedly there's no draw if you're not guaranteed to have friends waiting on the other side. What sort of thing do you generally enjoy? I actually have zero idea about your preferences.

I used to play CS, Diablo and DotA back in the day and of course WoW, HoN and LoL most recently.

I think something like DayZ with a social element seems most interesting to me. I actually like permadeath, so maybe a rogue-like mmo if something like that exists?

I really don't know, I'm just interested in looking into games that folks think are good for their genre without necessarily limiting myself to any one with the one caveat being that I have about an hour a night to play.

I personally like shooters when I'm short on time. CS:GO is okay (every iteration of CS is inferior to the previous, though), and I very occasionally fire up Tribes: Ascend when I want to go fast.

But of course there's always ARAM in LoL.

I came back to WoW for a few months and had a lot of fun. Then a couple bros I play with stopped playing so much and I'm back to not giving a shit.

In the meantime...I've been playing this:

Sims style stuff isn't my cup of tea, but thanks for the suggestion.

Vampire the Masquerade Blooooodddlliinnnneneesssss ffffffffsogood

Super Hexagon for brief spurts of rage followed by the briefest surge of pure joy when you break a record.

Civ5 is good, even with that time restriction. Play a few turns, make some progress, anticipate what you're going to do next all day.

if you still like dota type games, dota is still the king of the genre, but if you're out of the loop it'd probably take some adjusting to get back into. the community is just as bad as it's always been and valve is honestly making it worse, so that'd probably ruin the social part of it unless you have people you know to queue up with.

I'm not allowed to play any Civ game for specifically that reason... will google the other two :)

Yeah, I thought about going back to DotA, but really it requires a crew so that you can mute everyone else and I'm so far out of practice that it'd take too much to be good again.

Honestly I just need something to bide my time until Archer comes out in January...

mmo or masturbation?

I'm thinking masturbation.
