I'll tell you what gives the worst hangovers...beer on tap. It tastes so delicious...but damn, the hangovers are just awful.

Beer in bottles doesn't do that...I'm not sure of the biology behind it...but

Bottle = no hangover
Tap = zomg hangover

I did not read all of the responses but I will add my 2 cents. Alchohol is legal for the exact reason Mayo stated. Fermented beverages have been a part of Western European culture for as long as recorded time. The best alchohol is developed right here in the US as well as the countries where the majority of our ancestors came from. Weed, at least the best weed, is grown in countries south of us that we don't own, although we may think we do. If the government were to make weed legal, it would have to be after all of the politicians that picture the dirty stoner hippies every time weed is brought up in conversation die off or get so old they can't remember to change their diapers. And then it would have to be grown in Nebraska or some place in the midwest so we could get around the whole "buying it from a 3rd world country" aspect of the drug trade.

Having drank alot in high school, and really only having a contact high once or twice, I can tell you that I kinda wish I had been the guy who smoked up instead of got hammered because of the hangovers from hell cheap beer gives you. My crew of friends did not smoke but we had no problem with those that did so we got in all the good parties. The people who were stoned were all just sitting in a hamock somewhere staring at the trees while the drunks were fighting over who could hit the cop car with a beer bottle.

Well this turned into a giant rambling thought so I will end it now.

Gin gives me the most hardcore hangovers, even if I don't drink much I'll still feel like crap for a bit in the morning. Last Sunday I felt like shit the entire day, the night before I drank half a fifth of Gin, some Jameson, couple beers. Was pretty far off the level but not even close to blackout drunk/puking by any means. I've had many many far worse nights, but only 1-2 mornings just as bad as that. I felt like crap the entire day... what a waste of a day One of those days that keeps you in check for a while.

Wine and any sort of fried food. It may actually go together pretty decently, but I'm not going to treat my wine like that.

Also, German, Eastern European, and food from the British Isles.

Absolutely not. The best weed on the planet is grown right here in the states (except for Amsterdam weed, which lots of people in the states just buy seeds from there online, not to mention most of their weed comes from inside europe/north africa and we don't get any of it).

Also, a fifth of gin on halloween got me sick for a day and a half. Tequila also gives you some pretty nasty hangovers too, but that's assuming you're man enough to keep it down (like me).

EDIT: The only way you can really enjoy it is with doing the wedge of lime + lick of salt (I don't drink mixed drinks outside of gin and tonic because I am not a faggot).

Gin is wonderful, Tequila is the devil. Last time I drank that crap I woke up at noon in the bottom of a closet covered in all of the stuff I had pulled off hangers looking for a blanket. EVIL DRINK. However, Gin mixed with Tang is fucking amazing. I forget what my buddy named them in Va but it was something stupid that came up with to impress the ladies. The worst hangover I have ever had was from vodka, walking around back in 93, senior year at Western Branch high school that ended with us being chased by the someone that we though were cops while chugging the vodka. Not a good combination, running and getting drunk.
