I did an UBRS with phaeth and slideways in it at the same time. Phaeth basically said "disregard the tank, just heal me" and we did it with a rogue tank.

some time at 60 i was in an ubrs group and our tank was busy raging that we didn't have a warlock in the group to summon him so our 8/8 t2 rogue started pulling and created enough threat to not lose aggro. this is also when rogues had like, 10,000% dodge without evasion up so i think i just pw:s + renewed him for trash

although my favorite ubrs story is when beergogglez raged over not getting the lightforge shoulders from rend so he hearthed(to rachet i think). he then spent however long it toon to walk back to ubrs and make it back to our group and still finished at #1 dmg done

edit: also, grats thegrimmgor on epic dagger

didn't i jack that dagger from some rogue in like, respec or malice?

If you want to talk about "great" this is the only definition. Great is never engaging in self-congratulation about how awesome your circle of buddies are. Greatness is manifest in what you do.

No one was discussing "greatness," we were discussing "success," and as I said, success is determined by the goals a person sets for themselves...not the goals you and I think/feel they should have. It only makes sense that you'd find expressing happiness with interpersonal relations as "self-congratulatory," because to do otherwise would probably lead to some uncomfortable self-examination about why you don't believe you can express the exact same happiness.

Jubber

whoah whoah whoah whoah

Greatness manifests in both the action an individual makes and in the appropriateness of that action in time.

IE: Tempest's success in doing TOGC25 Immortal was cool, but would have been greater if they had done it sooner/on BH.

Additionally, Greatness and success (as previously stated) are completely dependent on the individual who is judging such success. For example, I might find great success in obtaining Thunderfury, Sulfuras, and Shadowmourne, where as others would look upon such a feat as a waste of time and life.

If you want to be great, grow some balls/self-esteem, stop giving a shit about what others think and say, and do what you think is great and disregard all other's opinions of what you have to do or will do to obtain it. Because the moment that you let other people's idea's blot out your personal AWESOMENESS, you fail and become like Goldorc.

Nuff Said.

Sincerely,

THULE DA ORIGINAL THUNDERFURY/SULFURAS DK

I think that perfectly summarizes what I was saying, and does so with a manly perspective.

All you really have to do to be above average in this game now is have all of your major spells bound and turn with your mouse.

To be capable of spamming shadowbolt in TBC, you needed a certain level of gear that wasn't easily built without a raid. Any warlock doing sb spam needed to be at those levels of gear, otherwise affliction won out, and we all know how well people play affliction.

Now, if that meant the warlock was carried to the gear or not, that's not for you to decide nor comment on, since your tbc raiding experience capped at gruul.

Shut up and stick to pokemon.

The only redeeming aspect of working on hit so much meant that as a warlock tank for illidan, your SR set generally didn't need much fine tuning.

then again, my first illidan kill was me tanking him as affliction, so durp durp.

Women can't help it if it's dark and warm and moist and perfect for.... well, you get the idea.

Bill is correct... understated, but correct. This whole conversation, at that time, started over a "Old Man Advice" section from doojnews where I emphasized the importance of condoms, and the "petri dish" reference was used for impact. It worked, clearly, because it has been brought up many many times, since.

PS: Wrap your rascal.

This. Every t6 warlock (unless they were carried hardcore) paid their affliction dues (back when the spec was actually challenging, mind you).

EDIT: I remember hitting 1200 dps on winterchill in mostly t5 as affliction. Best night of my life.

Affliction -_- Suffered right until I switched on a whim without having the gear for it mid-SSC. Never looked back.

Playing WoW again in 2018, kill me, thanks

While we're on the subject of TBC playstyles, did you ever manage to cast that healing touch, Meowth?
