Blizzard usually wont get involved but I read a blue post that states if the pot is failed to be handed out then the mods will get it and split it amongst everyone.

Something to do with them only enforcing a promised loot system.

I think if we did start anything of a blacklist, then we would require the 2 SS's that basically Blizz would need to look at the situation from an outside perspective and not just someone who got owned on not having enough gold and such. Also maybe not just blacklist immediately after 1 SS

IMO they need to implement the GDKP system into the game itself. It would in essence help out with people having to be honest, and instead make the run go a little smoother imo.

Yeah Minimum bids would have to be set somehow, but in the end it would remove the people from bitching that the Pot was stolen.

Plus if you wanted to run one with your own mod you always could, just set it to ML, and go, but then the risk for trying to be an ass will be greater.

Of course there are probably a ton of other things that need to be changed in the loot system they will get to in Cata if they learned anything from this xpac.

If they can't implement things like certain specs only being allowed to need certain sets of gear (ex. prot pallies needing dps 1handers), they sure as hell can't implement something like GDKP.

there is a fine line between "can't implement" and "won't spend the time to implement".

programmatically it's not that difficult, if for no other reason than mod authors have already done 90% of the legwork, all blizzard would need to do would be to steal their code for bidding and tracking and admin, and then just take the gold if you win.

i mean i guess they could/should implement a window where you input bids instead of in chat, and maybe put a confirmation popup. could model that off of a very scaled down AH.

basically the majority of the functionality they would need exists in game or in mod.

but then i don't blame them for not implementing it anyways, that's the type of thing you would either put in a fresh game or an expansion, some time when you are dedicating lots of man hours to new functionality and not just putting in the next finished instance or tweaking. cataclysm is too far along for them to start a project of that nature.

I was thinking something along the lines of a notoriety scale for the blacklist.

With three different levels of blacklist:

Accused - Somebody has accused you, zero proof has been submitted and this expires after a short time, so your name drops from the list. People here should probably have their loot rules screenshotted but still trustworthy enough to do a raid with.

Proven - Hard evidence that you ninja'd or a good number of people who've proven to be fine chaps witness your ninja'ing.

Notorious - Been seen over and over again ninja'ing shit. If someone groups with you at this point, they're fucking retarded.

Anyhoo, if you guys want I'll start, update, and moderate a blacklist thread if you think it will be helpful.

I would propose that one of the following people moderate it:
-Me (because I'm no longer on Bleeding Hollow, and have never been afraid to make a new enemy nor particularly cared about making friends)
-Henq (because he ought to be doing it given how much slush funds and graft he's getting, and since he plays Horde he has no stake in whatever happens)
-Boredalt (doesn't raid, universally respected)
-Someone from ATLC
-The douchebags who moderate this site

We should have a series of guidelines:
-People may be accused on the basis of at least two people who are not from the same guild or social circle who both have screenshots of the act
-Each accusation shall get its own thread in a sub-forum, which shall be locked after exactly one calendar week
-The blacklist will include links to the original threads
-It is permissible to deny loot to an individual based on performance
-It is permissible to lock/reserve items, but this must be printed in raid chat or trade AS THE RAID IS FORMING
-It is not permissible to deny loot to an entire raid based on performance, because obviously more than one person had to be performing at a more than competent level to kill the boss
-It is not permissible to ninja because of a need to hurry, or any other sort of real-life excuse
-It is not permissible to ninja by following secret agreements not known to the rest of the raid

i gotta be honest, what you guys are proposing seems like a freaking lot of work to moderate.

if you want to, go for it, but it seems like you're setting up a system that is more complex than is called for, especially considering the completely unofficial capacity of the results.
