1) you're too young to be a manager anywhere and
2) you sided with management. which means you've never had a fucking job anywhere.
You posted this in the wrong thread - but I'll answer it here straight up.
Point one: it's true I've not been a manager personally, but there's more than one path to management. Dumbass kids who go to the right colleges or major in business or have something going for them "manage" people older than them all the time.
Point two, I'll address in greater depth, because my experience here is interesting: My last job was working in the finance office of a small private school. I did a variety of things, including assisting with reconciliations and managing the AP files. I also helped with HR files.
I was told (and shown) that maintenance personnel tend to have HUGE HR files. This is because they tend to come from a certain type of background, and it takes a certain type of person to be willing to do that sort of work in the first place.
In particular, because they are not "professionals", i.e., their work revolves around physical work, rather than getting along with other people in a sterile indoor setting, they often have ridiculous interpersonal issues. I remember going through copious files about these people engaging in this kind of emo that wouldn't be tolerated from the "professionals" on campus, like getting ornery and arguing about dumb shit, or doing exactly what Jubber described, and stomping off campus and coming back at random times, or arguing amongst themselves in heated ways about buck-passing. Which was no doubt real, but whoever was right or wrong, it added up to more work for management.
During my tenure, they actually outsourced maintenance management, because the maintenance manager, a Mexican woman who spoke the language, couldn't handle it, and really it was a pretty insufferable job. They arranged to fire all the maintenance personnel then have them hired back by the contractor. The main goal was to just make all that nonsense someone else's problem.

Upon what basis?
For someone who took occasion to call me out for making what you called an assumption about someone else and things I wasn't party to, the shoe sure does leap fast to the other foot.
So, have you?
Jubber made this thread to vent about the stupid crap that he has recently had to deal with at work. Stupid crap like that happens to people all the time in the real world. The world isn't a perfect place, people aren't doing everything they're supposed to all the time and the people doing the actual work (or lack of) aren't necessarily qualified to do it. That's how the real world actually works. When you're one of the people actually working and doing what you're supposed to, all the idiots not doing what the should be can be really irritating. Jubber was telling us his story, and you came in and started attacking his internet persona and post history. If you have such a problem with him get the fuck out of his threads.
I could say yes, but hey, it's the internet and I could make any sort of claim about my life and it's totally unverifiable. So why even ask?
I replied to this thread with what is my opinion based on my inference and experience, and I don't see what's so unjustified about that. My judgments about Jubber are in context with what he's stated elsewhere, about the entitlement of others.
But you didn't answer my question. What puts you in a position to question my work experience in the first place? Because I have an opinion that conflicts with yours?
