Finally got to kill him on 10 last night. I must say, the RP at the end was cool, I'll give it that...but the fight itself....what a joke.

Move in, spread out, kill stuff. IDK, I feel like in terms of fights TBC just dominated Wrath overall.

I mean

Illidan + Vashj + Kael'thas = SEX. Every one of those fights had unique challenges, and were...idk...just more...interesting? challenging?

Lich King...zzzzzzz wake me up when the free kill at 10% is over.

inb4 "months behind"....IK, I just couldn't do 10mans coz of my work schedule so I was finally able to get brought in for a kill and mah achievement.

Illidan was a massive disappointment, who are you kidding?

I liked it, what would you have preferred?

In any case, still better than LK

by putting it that way you can make any boss fight seem trivial

DPS X, run away when X happens, dont stand in X, when X spawns kill it

there, covers most boss fights in the game, without giving any insight into what makes them unique.

We got to it last night but had a few alts in the run. I have done the fight on my lock (see my previous post) and even with his somewhat crap gear for that fight, it was relatively easy. But yes, to Quads point, it is go here, kill, run away, come back, kill. The biggest stress factor is being dropped off the cliff, thank God for demonic portals, lol.

I guess what i'm getting at, is that aside the RP...the fight itself didn't feel "epic" enough.

Kael'thas and Vashj were "epic" fights.

Something with a constant add rush like Vashj, probably.

Illidan was nothing but tank positioning.

EDIT: The only fights that I've genuinely enjoyed in wotlk are Yogg and Putricide.

Mimiron/Firefighter BRO.

but yeah lich king itself is real iffy. the lack of characters makes it very very dull, and the fight itself just doesn't fit him. it isn't really a BAD fight, it's just when i pictured fighting arthas, i didn't think the hardest part(next to getting people to show up) was going to be half naked angel-bird chicks who, if you don't kill them fast enough, throw you off icecrown.

Wait until you pull Heroic LK. Haven't had that much fun since Firefighter was progression.

I can tell you, heroic LK is absolutely the hardest encounter ever implemented in this game.

It is also very annoying in many ways, such as the fact that its design is uniquely susceptible to latency, and the way in which HORRIBLE pathing makes much of the encounter more problematic and risk-intensive. But even without those issues, it's far harder than any other encounter yet seen.

Firefighter just reminded me of Illidari Council Hardmode, tbh.

A long, overdrawn fight where all you do is not stand in stuff and win.

You have not seen it as progression.

Are you serious?

Flame tanking was intense as shit my first time.

EDIT: Sooooo much fire that I was forced to stand in because I couldn't move it.
