Aren't you always making the argument that the media is ridiculously liberal/left leaning because of influence? Or do you think it's totally unbiased?
No, my argument is that the information, or lack thereof, you find in most stories is flavored by the individual bias of whoever wrote the story. Further, because of deadlines added on top of said bias, most reporters lack the time to adequately research a subject before sending a story to the editor for print. This is compounded by the fact that the only subject most journalists seem to have any "expert" knowledge about is writing, and it makes them easily led, especially when the people/sources doing the leading hold a view already in line with the bias of the reporter. The only thing that tends to make this a generally left-leaning bias is that most reporters are trained at journalism schools by professors who are chock-full of left-wing biases.
Probably difficult to pick out the finer points when you're just scanning for keywords, though.
