Helpless animals coated in gunk seem nasty enough to me. Your point was that BP controls the media and that's why we weren't seeing the damage. Images were linked from major media sites (most of which you probably weren't familiar with since they weren't the BBC) that showed the damage. Upon those images being linked you attempted to suggest that it didn't matter because the matter was subjective.

Information about the damage of the spill, including pictures, is readily available from major media outlets, as well as other sources. This is clearly objective evidence of how very wrong you are that BP is manipulating the media. Attempting to suggest that it is now a subjective interpretation because you personally do not find the pictures "nasty" enough is a cop-out response in lieu of admitting that your original assertion was in error.

Jubber

Aren't you always making the argument that the media is ridiculously liberal/left leaning because of influence? Or do you think it's totally unbiased?

If the media disagrees with my world view, its obviously ran by a massive propaganda machine.

When this massive propaganda machine agrees with me, however, its entirely legitimate.

@ Aetsu -

I was out with my bros all day doing manly things like shooting guns, going to gun shows, etc. I come home, relax a bit and start flipping through the channels. I get to Fox News Channel and... crazy stuff... on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, they're showing pictures of the oil slick, animals covered in oil, talking to Admiral Allen of the Navy, Gov. Barbour of Mississippi talked about the economic impact of the disaster on their tourist communities, etc. All this within the first fifteen minutes of the show.

Did BP forget to write Fox News their bribe check?

Oh yea, I'm still looking for your expert analysis on the numbers you posted a couple pages ago. Numbers aren't like pictures where it's a matter of perception... right?

No, my argument is that the information, or lack thereof, you find in most stories is flavored by the individual bias of whoever wrote the story. Further, because of deadlines added on top of said bias, most reporters lack the time to adequately research a subject before sending a story to the editor for print. This is compounded by the fact that the only subject most journalists seem to have any "expert" knowledge about is writing, and it makes them easily led, especially when the people/sources doing the leading hold a view already in line with the bias of the reporter. The only thing that tends to make this a generally left-leaning bias is that most reporters are trained at journalism schools by professors who are chock-full of left-wing biases.

Probably difficult to pick out the finer points when you're just scanning for keywords, though.

Jubber

I'm going to pick out keywords and point out that professors are full of left-wing biases because smart people are left-wingers.

I actually approve of this message. I am no less prone to bias than anyone else.

Ah dude, the smell bad part is true though.

Always smell some lotion smell when it comes to black people.

Because of my first name, it was assumed everywhere I went in the military that I was going to be black. Due to a quirk of my birth, however, I was at least mildly Caucasian. I worked with enough black people that I feel comfortable saying that there is nothing wrong with the way they smell, which in my experience was on the average better than your average cracker.

Now stop talking shit about my bros.
