I concede that I'm far from well-versed in pop, so this may be entirely true.

my girlfriend listens to top 40 radio. i'm not really a lady gaga fan (or a pop fan at all) but when i have to listen to the shit that gets played, hearing lady gaga come on is like a reprieve from heaven above.

i mean, it's still stupid music, but at least it can be classified as music. it has melody, scales, and not just a grinding 4/4 beat with 3 sets of lyrics that are just repeated over and over.

if you didn't have to listen to it, you would never believe the utter depths of shit that pop music has become.

i took my gf to see her and i was actually surprised when she played most of her songs by herself with a piano. most of the teeny boppers were upset, but it wasn't actually half bad. she's gifted at the piano and gifted at marketing. thumbs up for her.

That isn't saying much.

Interesting... that's actually some +respect for me for performing with a piano instead of what I expected her doing kinda what she does in her music videos

i think if you give her a few years to grow musically she will make some truly powerful music.

also by watching this video you can clearly see she lacks a penis. or had it removed or whatever.

Lady Gaga is my wife!!!!

I loved her ever since I heard her "Just Dance" song and saw her video.
It was catchy but then I saw her live acoustic performances and just fell in love with her.
I bought her CD the first day it came out when noone knew who she was so it's pretty awesome seeing how fast she exploded in the music industry.

She didn't sell out. She pretty much writes all her own music, she used to write for Britney, Beyonce, Pussy Cat Dolls & a bunch of other artists before she came out with her own album. She's been playing piano since she was like 4 or 6 yrs old so she can rock the piano and sing very well. She never lip synchs and she actually designs a lot of her outfits on paper for designers to make for her. She used to play a lot in NYC clubs. She's actually the first pop artist I have seen in awhile I can honestly think of that made it because she was actually talented and worked her way up.

If you see any of her live concerts, she talks a lot with her fans on stage gets very emotional with them and is just freakin awesome.
She's the only artist I so far seen who actually stays hours at meet and greets to meet fans and buy them all food/drinks. She spends majority of her money on her performances and if you've been to a live show you can see that. Almost every live performance she does she does a different rendition of her songs which is amazing, she's never boring.

Can't wait to see her July 1st and Sept 16th!

Here's a couple of my fav performances of her's...

The opening video to her first Tour was epic and her stage presence is amazing! The Opening video reminds me of Macross Plus Sharon Apple.
Electronica version of Paparazzi!

She's just crazy and awesome!

at 2:20 awesome remix of "Dance in the Dark" plus she sounds epic and looks awesome!
This was her tribute to the designer that made a lot of her outfits (especially her shoes) that he killed himself after his mom died. The second half has organ music in the remix, fitting for a funeral.

Paparazzi Remix (performing in hell after she died at the VMA's)

The creature prop in the live tour is badass! You def get your money's worth at her concerts!

I made the mistake of assuming her costumes, music videos, where crafted by the music industry (jaded view i guess) and were the only things she was able to really do. In the age of autotune and other people with mediocre talent that are able to become famous performers. After actually taking some time to look up and actually read up about her live performances and seeing some of her fans posting here with her history... I am quite impressed with her
