I admit to having a problem with statements or questions that use the absolutes "always", "never" and "all", even if I agree with the general idea. I can't stop my mind from instantly formulating realistic scenarios that oppose the heart of the matter. IMO, that's why most of us land in the green. I have trouble marking "Strongly Agree" to any absolute. Are any of you resistant in this way? Should I go into the social disorder thread "over there" to determine if my brains were scrambled by that kid who to tried to kill me with a baseball bat when I was 11 years old? ;)

There was only a few things which i marked as strongly agree or strongly disagree.

"Our race has many superior qualities, compared with other races."
"Abortion, when the woman's life is not threatened, should always be illegal."
"No broadcasting institution, however independent its content, should receive public funding."
"A significant advantage of a one-party state is that it avoids all the arguments that delay progress in a democratic political system."
"You cannot be moral without being religious."
"It is important that my child's school instills religious values."
"What goes on in a private bedroom between consenting adults is no business of the state."
"A same sex couple in a stable, loving relationship, should not be excluded from the possibility of child adoption."
"Sex outside marriage is usually immoral."

"Our race has many superior qualities, compared with other races."

-Agree, Humans are superior.

"Abortion, when the woman's life is not threatened, should always be illegal."

Staying out of this one.

"No broadcasting institution, however independent its content, should receive public funding."

-Agree. Freedom of speech is impossible with funding from the state.

"A significant advantage of a one-party state is that it avoids all the arguments that delay progress in a democratic political system."

-STRONGLY disagree. There is no advantage to a one-party state that is worth what you give up in freedom.

"You cannot be moral without being religious."

This is an ethics question, and probably deserves its own thread. I don't know where i stand on this one.

"It is important that my child's school instills religious values."

Moral values yes, religious values no. See previous answer.

"What goes on in a private bedroom between consenting adults is no business of the state."

Strongly agree, so long as there are no animals or children involved.

"A same sex couple in a stable, loving relationship, should not be excluded from the possibility of child adoption."

There are terrible straight parents, i don't see how two gay parents could be worse.

"Sex outside marriage is usually immoral."

Yes, but infinitely more exciting.

I read that first question differently than you did usdk. when looking at it from the answer you gave, i'd give the same. I read it as different races of humans

This. Things about gay marriage/etc were easy for me, and common good, most other things werent strongly anything.

Authority should always be questioned.

Where's the "Holy shit this is so fucking AGREED" button?

Um, to try and recall some things,

I strongly disagreed with sex outside of marriage being immoral, supporting my country whether it was right or wrong, and... I can't recall any more.

I didn't know how to answer a couple, and I know I answered the races being superior question wrong.

Anyway:

"Ok we aren't such things and birds are pretty advanced. They fly and shit from anywhere they want. While we sit on our automatic toilets, they're shitting on people and my car while a cool breeze tickles their anus. That's the life."
