Read any sociological journal article on what marriage/a serious relationship does to a woman's ability to maintain upwards progression in a career, and you'll take that statement back.

It might not chain you down literally, but there are serious implications on career progression. And yes, of course there are outliers, but for the average woman working in the cooperate world, the moment you get married is pretty much when your chances of upwards mobility end.

Really, just marriage or a serious relationship? Kids for sure will fuck you straight up, I think most of the women at my office are married except for the younger ones (<30) though.

It has nothing to do with promiscuity. It has to do with not wanting the social burdens that come with being an attached woman. My girlfriend got pregnant at 18, with twins, and I'd wager she's one of the most successful mothers I know.

She has a fuckton of childcare experience beforehand though, and belongs to La Leche League and various mothering websites and boards. She is insanely knowledgeable and dedicated.

Okay, so to give the i don't understand women update here.

The one girl...I text her, "yeah we should hang out"

She's all like, "yeah we should...I'm busy this week but we'll play it by ear"

I wait a week, " so we gonna hang out?"

She texts back, "yeah we'll figure out a time"

I go "blah blah well when are you free"

No response. WTF why don't they just come out and be like I changed my mind let's not hang out WTF WTF.

Then, I'm doing this eHarmony thing right. I am talking to this girl, we make it through all the "stages" of communication. We start e-mailing back and forth "blah blah, I do this...blah blah these are my interests...blah blah" Well after e-mailing back and forth for like a week I go, "so hey you wanna meet up" (I mean, this is why you are on eHarmony, to meet people and go on dates, not just fucking e-mail people). She writes back "yes I would enjoy meeting up, but I'm busy this week, how about next?"

I write back "sounds good, blah blah I'll message you then."

She closes the match, for no reason. I'm all like...WAT.

It's pretty odd I have never been able to figure it out.

When you are trying to get a girl and you pay too much attention she turns around and runs, you pay too little attention and she runs. But only she knows how much enough attention is.

I agree with Kamguh here your constant replies just leads them to thinking you are desperate. Next time you get a "I am busy this week, how about next?" Say, actually I am busy next week but give me a call if you want to meet up. It can go two ways, she can be one of those "OMG THE GUY HAS TO DO THE WORK" or she will think you are worth meeting up with.

The roles have been slowly transitioning into women doing more of the chasing.

I chased my now wife for about 10 months to get her to date me, what happens two weeks later? She dumps me. I was like alright fuck you then. And magically she was back within a week. Not sure why that worked but we have been together 6 years come December.

Stop romanticizing relationships. They aren't going to be the sweet and cute things from movies/tv shows/etc.. They are full of stupid drama, about stupid things, and stupid arguments over stupid things that mean nothing. If a woman doesn't want to hang out with you, fuck them (not literally, unless you want to). There is someone else who wants to spend time with you and is worth your time more so than someone who wants to play some fucking relationship game to see if your worth her time.
