BOREDALT’S 10,000 BRAIN CHALLENGE
Please do not speculate about clues, offer solutions or hints, nor infringe on the enjoyment of this puzzle for any players who may wish to attempt this game.
I will divide 10,000 gold among all players who email a correct solution to
[email protected]. Only solutions sent to this email address are eligible for gold. Solutions must be emailed before Saturday, June 26 at 6PM server time. I will accept only the FIRST solution submitted by a player. I reserve the right to cancel this game for any reason, or to disqualify any player at my discretion. Again, please offer no help of any kind in either posts here or in game chat. You may post that you have solved, but remember, every correct solution will dilute your share of the gold, so don’t help! I will give no more clues than those listed below. Everything needed to arrive at the only possible solution is provided below. Since I no longer have gold on my Horde character, Horde solvers are welcome to participate, but will have to eat the neutral AH fee.
PLEASE READ:
For the purposes of this puzzle, the general questing levels associated with any particular zones are meaningless. All zones and cities are considered equal and their geographical settings within the game are meaningless to the solution here.
THE PUZZLE
Trying to find something different and interesting to do, 7 Alliance players--four Dwarves (Priest, Paladin, Warrior, Hunter) and three Gnomes (Rogue, Warlock, Mage)—decided to try to complete 300 quests within 24 hours on a shared toon they called
Triquest by each taking a turn then passing the toon to another player to continue. Each of the seven took one turn and completed a different number of quests. Each player took control of
Triquest in a different city then handed him over in another city, one being Booty Bay. The first player began in Ironforge and the last was met triumphantly by the other six in Dalaran after completing their fun challenge. Given the facts of the challenge below, find the starting and ending cities for each turn, the number of quests done during the turns, the name (one is
Speedmetal), race, and class of the players’ who completed the quests.
1. The shortest turn covered 20 quests and the longest 75; no two turns are the same number.
2.
Watsamattau's fun ended in Theramore.
3. The 1st handoff of
Triquest didn't occur in Menethil Harbor.
4. The Paladin completed 10 quests more than the Priest did.
5. The Hunter did 25 quests more than the turn going from Stormwind to Shattrath City and 50 quests more than the number the Gnome
Urdunne covered--which wasn’t the fewest.
6. The last turn is 15 quests shorter than the one
Coontz completed.
7.
LF1MBJ controlled
Triquest neither 1st nor last during the challenge.
8. The Dwarf
Watsamattau did 10 more quests than the player who took the 1st turn (which isn't the 20-quest turn), but managed 20 fewer quests than the Warrior finished.
9.
Morizbetta didn't bring
Triquest into Dalaran.
10. The turn starting in Menethil Harbor finished twice as many quests as the turn ending in Menethil Harbor.
11. The player who brought
Triquest into Stormwind finished the most quests.
12. The Warlock didn't complete the fewest out of the seven players.
13. The Gnome
Urdunne started in Gadgetzan.
14. The Gnome
Tooclose completed twice as many quests as the Mage did.
15. The Warrior's turn didn't start in Shattrath City.
