So, I've got my music library and I've shared it with my wife. We're both in the same homegroup, I think. When I click on the Windows menu and select Computer, I click Homegroup (on the left) and it says, "No other homegroup computers available", which is bullshit because my wife is right here on her computer spending money on Amazon.
Now, she can see my music... and I have my Music folder set to Share (Read/Write) with Homegroup...
But she can't use the Windows Search to search my music folder... which is the problem I'm having here.
Some MS page says this...
Quote:
Searching the homegroup is transparent. On each computer, Windows Search indexes the contents of the folders included in the Libraries. When you search the homegroup, Windows Search uses these indexes to find files on each homegroup computer. Searching a homegroup is no more difficult than using Windows Search to find files on your local computer.
My ass. I double checked our Homegroup settings, Homegroup ID, etc. Everything matches up... I've even rebuilt the index but no luck.
Clearly I missed something somewhere. Anyone have an Idea?
