So what does everyone think the impact of this on his career is going to be?

Honestly, the whole anti-semetic comments hurt him, but I think he was starting to recover finally...this is just much worse. Plus, he admits to punching her teeth out while she was holding their baby...just...yikes.

I am going to have a hard time watching Mel Gibson films after this...I'm just going to keep picturing this guy being completely insane.

I fear I'm headed down that road, though without the woman beating.
I respect the man and would still watch his (older) movies anytime.

Well, because everyone is so friggin' up tight and politically correct, I'm sure his career is done. (He apparently said that himself because he said he told the woman his career is done and she, as he said, had a problem with it.) Seriously though... if the man used anti-semetic words or if he said she was going to be raped by a pack of niggers... does that make him less good at acting, directing, etc? So the man has an opinion... wah, big deal.

Personally, when I hear the word nigger, I think of the hood-rats that run with gangs, sell drugs, rape people, etc. Just like when I hear white trash, I think of the broke-ass white people living in trailer parks, unable to hold a job who beating their wife (or are beaten) with cars parked in the lawn... and they like slamming back beers all night, normally uneducated, toothless, etc. Both stereotypes exist as I perceive them so is it wrong to say they are what they are? So, if Mel says his wife is dressed like a whore and that if she's raped by a pack of niggers that she brought it on herself... then maybe he's right? /rant

Oh, and I think we need to look past him punching her in the face while she was holding a baby. He did take care to not punch the baby in the face so I applaud him for his accuracy.

if you depend on the public for say votes or movie tickets or whatever, its best to not beat women and threaten death on your wife where it can be proven, cuz people dont put up with that shit.
