For everyone that says free is better, there is a reason it is free. yes Microsoft is the devil and we are all going to hell for contributing to Bill Gates new plane, space ship, or human cloning program. But many schools require Office with no exception. I had a class that I could have easily run on Open Office or even Notepad++ but the instructor would not accept and format other than Word. Yes I know, FAIL INSTRUCTOR, but you have to do what you have to do. The version he bought was the Home and Student edition which comes with three lisences so he actually paid 35$ a copy for three copies.
