I just joined DU on my rogue, they seem alright to me. Granted, I don't have much experience with them other than 2 ICC clears, but they were smooth.

They make it real clear to you during a pre-invite interview on vent of what they expect and how they do things, it's not for everyone but hey, who cares, nobody is making you join this guild!

WHY SO MANY HATERSSSSSsssss

p.s if you have questions about DU maybe I can answer them for you from the point of view of a fresh face?

You can do that when you read the rules of the site regarding profile names. As per protocol, this is your first and last warning.

Man the only guild I knew of prior to this that made you keep all your alts in-guild was SG, and they were really lenient if they liked you (I had 2 characters in SG, the other 8 were elsewhere and I never got shit for it).

Reverence was like that (LOOOOOOOOOOOL), and there was some pretty hefty drama about some people not following the rule.

I'm a hater because of the bullshit tactics that your guild uses to recruit. Poaching actively from other guilds forums/members. On top of all the shady things I've heard from people who used to be in your guild. I respect Tasty Beverage more than DU..... and that's saying a lot

p.s. Someone mentioned Spicy here. I don't know if he was subject to the poaching from DU nor will I claim that he was since I don't know

The only alts they ask you to send over are any 80s you have. I don't really see the problem here. If you namechanged a pre-80 or asked I'm sure they wouldn't give a damn if you kept an alt in another guild (ATLC).

As for trying to steal people from other guilds I can't say anything nor have I heard anyone trying to do that. So for me it's more likely that it happened to one or two people and now it's stated as some known fact. But for recruiting everyone to get things done, yea, that happens. There is a fair amount of gear that should be in this guild but left for whatever reason.

We had about 5-6 different people mention in guild one day that DU officers were whispering them trying to get them to join. They very well may have stopped doing this, but it's left a bad image of the officer core in my mind.

You probably got the ban for including a website address.

That they recruit so aggressively isn't as offensive as the reasons they need to in the first place.

I raided with DU for 3 months during their first weeks doing ToGC25 on my druid. The raiding atmosphere felt pretty intense as a fresh recruit, but some of the other raiders were pretty welcoming. At the time they did have to aggressively recruit since back then some of our raids had to be called due to low raid attendance. They were also very strict about raid performance and were willing to even replace some of their veteran raiders that transferred with the guild from Ysondre. No, I didn't get replaced, but I left DU on my own accord to go Horde.

But yes, I agree with the whole alts thing. Before RealID came out, I talked to Osiris and other O's regarding the whole alts thing since I wanted to raid casually with some friends on off-raid times. This hasn't really been brought up before, but they did mention that they *preferred* to have all of my raid-capable 80 alts in the guild. I felt a bit guilt-tripped and just went along with it anyway. I don't know if now they require all their new recruits to put all their 80s in there.

A while after I apped, I recall them adding a new requirement where you had to screenshot your character screen for a full list of your toons. I guess this is to screen ninja's or any other things?

This is contradicted by she who is posting.
