The best thing is saying something that is ridiculously...nay, retardedly manly, and having the boy light up and join in.

We watched R. Lee Ermy on Youtube for like an hour (except the Full Metal Jacket stuff...too young for that), and now he says stuff like, "maybe we need to go down to mamby-pamby land so you stop being dumb." Which is stupid and means nothing, but he's on the right track.

I'm trying to make sure I don't rock any of my more offensive catch-phrases around him, like "that's why nobody likes white people," or "but that doesn't make him/her/it/them a bad person," which is usually proceeded by something someone has done that is absolutely reprehensible.

I never understood that whole "screaming and loud means I'm scary" thing. I'm usually far more imposing when I'm quiet.

Seems to work for Gunny Ermy, though.
