but sometimes i agree with them. I still love dragonforce, but i can't listen to that fucking song due to guitar hero.

Oh no, music snobbery is not limited to hipsters by any means. It's just that the highest % of hipsters are music snobs...it's basically a requirement to be a hipster.




I can understand how that would be annoying and would make you hate the song. That being said, are you going around flipping out at every person wearing a dragonforce t-shirt saying "OMG THEY SOLD OUT!" Probably not. I just dislike when people think they are better than you for the music they like...or because the band they like hasn't sold as many records as the band you like. It's just stupid imo.

I'm sure these people existed back in the day...For example: those who hated (or still hate) The Beatles because a majority of people like them. I'd just want to say, "well, asshole, they are The Beatles and they make really good music that appeals to a lot of people...it makes absolutely no sense to hate them because of this."

I didn't fully read your post but I did see you mentioned The Beatles - If you said they're a good band you need to throw yourself from a tall building. If you said something different then carry on.

Conversely, if you don't think the Beatles are a good band...or you don't enjoy their music...that's fine. What sounds good to some, may sound like crap to others...all art is open to interpretation and is subjective.


However, if you refuse to recognize their significance and impact on the history of music, not to mention their talent as musicians and songwriters etc...then sir, it is you who needs to throw yourself from a tall building.


I'll give you an example...you probably like metal/etc, right? I don't particularly enjoy Slayer, I would never buy any of their albums or go to their concerts. But I can respect the impact they have had on the metal genre (a genre that I'm not particularly fond of) and can respect their talent as musicians. I don't think their fans should throw themselves from buildings simply because I don't want to listen to the band.




We'll have to agree to disagree here I'm sure. It seems as though you are the classic "Beatles hater" who refuses to acknowledge them for some ridiculous reason which is most likely that millions of people enjoy their music and they are universally agreed upon being one of the greatest bands of all time.

...I must have been one of those people. I loved everything R.E.M. did up until Green, which was right about the time they popped up outside of 120 minutes on MTV.

Also used to love U2, but Bono's a self-righteous piece of shit and he needs to a Costco size bag of dicks.

You can probably tell from this post that I have not at all kept up with music since like...1994.
