Just like in Romeo & Juliet, it's immature and betrays a lack of perspective to believe one's spouse is "special". For every Jack there is a Jill - but then if that Jill were never born it'd be someone else. After all, doesn't the high divorce rate prove that's self-defeating?

Alright so here's the problem with that.
I was using the term special too lightly, to describe someone that I could date or be friends with.
You're taking it to the other end to mean soulmates which isn't what I had intended.
Not that I don't like the idea of soulmates or believe in them, it's just much like you have stated, the ratio of Jacks to Jills is just too out of whack in addtion to Some Jills being with the wrong Jack and vice versa. Now if I was one to believe in Soulmates, I'd tell you that that Jack/Jack and Jill/Jill pairings would balance it all out somehow or some other non sense OR I could simply tell you that I think we're soulmates. You complete me, be the Jack to my Jill. <3

Being one of the dads in this group I will chime in with "The World According to Gene". I am not a fan at all of the whole stay at home concept with two exceptions. One would be if you had lots of kids, I mean like 5 plus. At that point it cost more to send the kids to daycare if they are not of school age than one person would bring home. You would essentially be working to pay for a babysitter unless you had a really good job. The other would be in the events of mom or dad returning to school and taking care of the kids when they are home. Otherwise, go to work.

My wife and I tried the stay at home deal when my oldest was born and it went horribly. She was not helping around the house and I nearly burned it down when I fell asleep sterilizing bottles. It could have ended our marriage if it went much longer but she agreed that it was not in our best interest for her to stay home. Now that both of our kids are in school it might not be a bad idea if we could afford for her to stay home and go to school during the day to pursue a better job after finishing her degree. If I were to come into a shitload of money I would still have to do something even if it was go to school full time during the day or I would go nuts. there is only so much WoW and porn a person can handle, lol.

My husband would be a stay-at-home dad if he could. Since I nurse the baby still, it really isn't feasible at the moment.

It's a fairness and equality thing. Do you think your gender has a monopoly on the right to release glucose during sex?

If jizz has sugar in it why are there spitters?

Qualitatively.

Do you know what sexual dimorphism is?

Not sure why you are taking this on a genetic level but hey w/e if you want to be that precise fine.

I am referring to equality in a social standing. Women are equal if not have an upper hand simply because of looks or various other reasons. It is really a case by case basis but for the most part I would say it is equal.

I work for a rather large Non-Profit organization with over 3000 employees across the board. The majority of the Management and above are women. So to try and say that they are not equal is just stupid.

Sexual dimorphism is phenotypic not genotypic. Men and women have all the same genes except for a single, extra-small chromosome, and even that can be all the same and the phenotypic differences can be expressed with hormone treatment.

My point about sexual dimorphism is that men and women are clearly different. So why would we say they are necessarily "equal"?

I didn't ask if they were quantitatively equal to men, I asked if they were qualitatively equal. Are they? Answer me that.
