Just like in Romeo & Juliet, it's immature and betrays a lack of perspective to believe one's spouse is "special". For every Jack there is a Jill - but then if that Jill were never born it'd be someone else. After all, doesn't the high divorce rate prove that's self-defeating?
Alright so here's the problem with that.
I was using the term special too lightly, to describe someone that I could date or be friends with.
You're taking it to the other end to mean soulmates which isn't what I had intended.
Not that I don't like the idea of soulmates or believe in them, it's just much like you have stated, the ratio of Jacks to Jills is just too out of whack in addtion to Some Jills being with the wrong Jack and vice versa. Now if I was one to believe in Soulmates, I'd tell you that that Jack/Jack and Jill/Jill pairings would balance it all out somehow or some other non sense OR I could simply tell you that I think we're soulmates. You complete me, be the Jack to my Jill. <3
