"Hey man let me talk to you j/k gotta text 5 people why are we even on the phone lol!"

Its more like "hey I wanna talk but I don't feel like getting tied up while I'm drinking with friends/playing fallout 3/watching a movie/smoking hookah".

I'm not a serial texter or one of those assholes that texts other people whenever they go to hang out, I'm just someone who doesn't like talking on the phone, mainly because I'm oversensitive about what little I have left of a speech impediment when I was a little kid.

Wiki wrote:
Although individuals with Asperger syndrome acquire language skills without significant general delay and their speech typically lacks significant abnormalities, language acquisition and use is often atypical. Abnormalities include verbosity, abrupt transitions, literal interpretations and miscomprehension of nuance, use of metaphor meaningful only to the speaker, auditory perception deficits, unusually pedantic, formal or idiosyncratic speech, and oddities in loudness, pitch, intonation, prosody, and rhythm.

Three aspects of communication patterns are of clinical interest: poor prosody, tangential and circumstantial speech, and marked verbosity. Although inflection and intonation may be less rigid or monotonic than in autism, people with AS often have a limited range of intonation: speech may be unusually fast, jerky or loud. Speech may convey a sense of incoherence; the conversational style often includes monologues about topics that bore the listener, fails to provide context for comments, or fails to suppress internal thoughts. Individuals with AS may fail to monitor whether the listener is interested or engaged in the conversation. The speaker's conclusion or point may never be made, and attempts by the listener to elaborate on the speech's content or logic, or to shift to related topics, are often unsuccessful.

Children with AS may have an unusually sophisticated vocabulary at a young age and have been colloquially called "little professors", but have difficulty understanding figurative language and tend to use language literally. Children with AS appear to have particular weaknesses in areas of nonliteral language that include humor, irony, and teasing. Although individuals with AS usually understand the cognitive basis of humor, they seem to lack understanding of the intent of humor to share enjoyment with others. Despite strong evidence of impaired humor appreciation, anecdotal reports of humor in individuals with AS seem to challenge some psychological theories of AS and autism.

TLDR: Wall of Text from Wiki, in short, I ramble and getting to talking fast/lots in addition I have to attend speech classes when I was like 8 because I couldn't say Yellow, Three, French Fries, or Aluminum.

Can we hug now?

Thoughts on texting?

I think we solved at least one mystery in this thread.

Are you calling me a bitch? Or are you just agreeing that bitches love smiley faces. Please explain...I have aspergers and your superior social IQ is confusing me.

I have a smartphone with a full keybaord and I still hate text. We use it a work from time to time send IP addresses to each other when we are on site and my wife likes to send random crap. After about four or five sends I just call her and finish the conversation.

On a side note, when our VP and AVP got their IPhones they did not realize they were not on unlimited text yet. They were sitting in meetings just texting random shit back and forth to pass the time until they got called in the CEO's office with their 400$ a piece phone bill laying on his desk, lol. They promptly made sure they had unlimited text on their accounts.

From these forums I've concluded that you lived in a cave and just found your way out.

I'll help you out. Here's a razor, you use it for shaving.

Also Azelma, I'm still curious about my question from this thread earlier about your name.

Ah yes, didn't see that til you just pointed it out.

I just asked a bunch of people in my office, and at first glance, they all said it like "uh zel ma" (the first part being like how you'd say "Gazelle" Grant, we are all Americans, so we could possibly be butchering it. That's how I've always read it and said it though, and how most people on vent will say it when they read it for the first time.

I've heard several variations in my time, but the most common is "Aah-zull-muh" (like saying "Azul" the spanish word for blue) which I feel is really incorrect. I don't like the sound of it, hence why I phonetically spell it out the way I think it should sound.

-------------------------------------------------------------

It's from Les Miserables, and therefore is a french name. I googled around a bit and was unable to find any specific pronunciation of the name.

I am not calling you a bitch. But your use of the term bitches instead of just saying women is what I was pointing out. It was more a reference to your previous threads of dating woes. Using the term bitches as a reference to women in general shows at least some lack of respect in my opinion. Maybe women sense this. They are not as naive and brain dead as most men would like to believe.

lol, looks like someone didn't watch the YouTube video I posted.....

In said YouTube video (from the show The Boondocks) one of the characters says "I just sent that bitch a smiley face....bitches love smiley faces"

I don't call women bitches, I was joking :)

I actually respect women a whole lot...too much sometimes in fact. I've been told before (to quote 40 year old virgin) "man, you're putting the pussy on a pedestal"

Can I still have the post in flash cards and crayon though?

understood.

As far as the main topic of the thread goes. I tell people I actually enjoy conversations with to call me. I tell everyone else to text me. Easier to ignore the annoying ones that way.
