Today i was on hold for the longest time, and was enquiring about a product which i knew didn't exist so i felt stupid calling about it but had to enquire nonetheless. When the girl finally answered the phone i completely spaced out and said "GIDDAY HOW ARE YA!?". The woman i share an office with is Australian and she lot it big time at my awesome aussie accent.

Wasn't even intentional or anything idk how it happened. Usually i'm quite professional by my own standards. I need a nap.

I once had this elderly mentor who worked in the OSS during the war, then travelled the world as a "budget analyst" for the air force for the next 40 years. I was doing computer consulting for him, and happened to mention the Xbox in a lecture about DVD compatibility. He totally freaked out. "Xbox...? I don't know anything about a Xbox..." He was usually extremely lucid and a real sharp character, but mentioning the term obviously hit a trip wire in his brain. It was kind of funny, actually.
