I'm pretty sure sodomy is still illegal in most red states. Also, why don't you try being openly gay in a deep southern state like Louisiana or Mississippi and see how long you last.

Find me the christian one. There are progressive, secular Islamic nations (ex. Turkey, Indonesia) just like there are Christian ones.
I'm pretty sure, as per the Bible, you can stone your wife for adultery and kill gays. If there was a Christian theocracy as literal as many Islamic ones, you'd see the exact same practices.
EDIT: The only example I can really think of are predominantly Christian countries in Central Africa where homosexuality is punishable by death. There was a story in the news a couple weeks back where two gay men from the Congo or something were given asylum for this reason.
