QUESTIONS
Which web browser do you believe is the best in terms of add-ons (functionality/availability) and Why?
Firefox; It's been open-source for a long time, was written with extensibility in mind and has a mature catalog of fie-tuned addons.
Which web browser do you think is most secure with personal information/defense of malicious attacks and Why?
I prefer Firefox and Chrome to protect against attacks... but I'm not sure I trust Chrome with personal information because of Google.
Which web browser do you think runs fastest (assuming the same internet connection)?
Chrome is pretty speedy on my machine.
Do you use the same web browser to view porn that you do for regular surfing? (Note: "I don't look at porn" is not an acceptable answer and a bold-faced lie.)
Yes.
Have you ever met anyone who doesn't utilize tabbed-browsing? If so, did you promptly laugh at them?
Yea - I met people who didn't use tabbed browsing when I first started working. IE6 was big at the time and most of my clients couldn't use anything other than IE6 because of restrictions. Since most (if not all) browsers have tabbed browsing now I don't think its possible to not use it.
True or False - Internet Explorer sucks dick
True. I don't like how Microsoft doesn't follow W3C standards like everyone else. (I'm looking at you, box model 'bug'.)
True or False - "Private Browsing" was designed specifically for porn viewing
I use Private Browsing a lot at work so I don't leave a foot print at some... eh, questionable websites, like Demonoid.
What is your browser home page(s) upon opening?
iGoogle in both Firefox and Chrome. Some default start page in IE.
Have you been to http://www.thewildernessdowntown.com/ in Google Chrome (which utilizes HTML5)? If not, please go. What did you think?
I don't like HTML5 - A little too bloated for my tastes and I don't like the introduction of all the new elements. A footer element? Really? Can't we just use DIV tags and ID the footer? Maybe it's because I haven't started fully developing in HTML5 yet but I feel like it's just making things more complicated. I haven't fully explored the APIs of HTML5, like the new canvas or whatever... but jQuery and JavaScript were able to do everything HTML5 can do without all the HTML Standard bloat. I dunno, still a little skeptical.
Do you have multiple web browsers installed on your computer, and do you use all of them?
I have Chrome, Firefox, Safari and IE8 installed. (I have IE6 and IE7 though VS) I need to make sure my apps look right in each browser.
So what web browser do you think is the best, and therefore you use it?
I like Chrome. I feel it's pretty light-weight and I like how it maximizes the rendering area. I do wonder if Google is mining my data, though.
BONUS QUESTION:
Did you ever use Netscape, or another now-dead web browser (please name)?
I used Netscape and AOL. Netscape was required in middle school and AOL's browser is what I used at home until I got DSL.
