The guy is obviously insane but the video is informative nonetheless about what is wrong with our political system and why it needs to be changed.
Notice the loud rustle of papers and fans in the background, how he conspicuously reads from a prepared text, how he moves in a spastic manner, how he huffs and puffs and speaks in simple language. While he IS crazy, these are the things that stay with a listener, but most are too small minded to notice, they only are aware of the final effect. Political presentation today is all polish and no substance because people are shallow and stupid.
Politicians engage in stereotyped and shallow behavior and campaigns and are without courage and imagination because any deviation from that is offensive to the overwhelming majority of Americans because most of them are extremely small-minded. Howard Dean gets a lot of ridicule, and he's definitely a very imperfect character, but he's also one of the most genuine and sincere politicians we've had in a very long time, and those are qualities that a truly great democratically elected leader would have to have.
Unfortunately, that's clearly not what the people want, so instead we are mired in petty partisan politics and irrelevant rhetoric, which brings us here. And then people look around and wonder why, and arrogantly think the answers they have, same as everyone else's are the bona fide truth, when in reality they are not only part of the problem, they ARE the problem.
There are solutions but people don't want them. In the long run, problems will fester, and ultimately some political opportunist will force a change in our form of government.
