That all may be true zaryi but you're hardly an example of the long term effects of home schooling.

Why not? What do you view the long term effects of homeschooling?

Smart people don't want to sail through an Israeli blockade.

I think "too smart for the classroom" is bogus and beyond stupid. I went to a public high school. Our graduating class's valedictorian went to Yale for his undergrad and is now in med school at Northwestern. That kid is smarter than anyone near my age I've ever met, and he didn't skip grades or go to special schools.

I don't at all buy that homeschooled kids come out any farther ahead in the areas they're interested in, on the basis that stuff like AP classes exist in real people schools.

Probably should.

And you're right, 'too smart for the classroom' isn't 100% correct, and there are definitely people just as smart as the people I grew up with who flourished in public schools.

I view the long term effects of homeschooling to come into play somewhere past the 20 years old mark. no offense, but 2 years out into adulthood isn't "long term" by any stretch of the imagination.

I also find people become a bit more conservative as they age. That ultra-liberal kid will eventually mature and start paying attention when their life is being taxed in every possible way - just something they never had to worry about under the wing of their parents.

You have this magical gift of never putting anything into perspective. US citizens pay a rather low amount of taxes compared to Europeans. Then again, Europeans don't get buried in student loans and healthcare bills.

35%-50% of a person's income is excessive regardless of your "perspective."

In Canadia land everything costs (edit: AT LEAST) 13% more than the price you see.

I much prefer a sales tax to an income tax.

When I was in college I lived on campus but befriended some commuters and hung out in their on-campus "lounge" which was just a 3 story house the college owned. Many of the commuters using the lounge were home-schooled. The majority of them were odd. You could just kinda tell that they weren't quite comfortable, their social skills did seem a tad off, but many were indistinguishable from the other students. They were, on average, smarter than the public school students, but that's just anecdotal.

Most of the home-schooled girls I met at college were just waiting for the right amount of attention to justify putting out.

Just throwing that out there. Be against it if you want, but consider the benefits/consequences first.

Nah, I'm mostly harmless. I've been with the same woman for almost ten years and I don't cheat.

Though I have been sorely tempted, especially on that one occasion by the cutest little red-haired home-schooled girl you can imagine.
