The highest position in the country being occupied by a half-black man means a lot actually; if he fails to realize that the efforts of racial equality have actually made headway then he's beyond stupid.

I wouldn't bother justifying yourself to him. You know you don't unconditionally hate a person because of the color of their skin, right? Hell, you may hate the stereotypical sub-groups within a race, but at that point you're hating on habit, behavior, personality, traits or whatever else - not on skin color. Does it really bother you what he thinks?

Because only 52% of the country voted for him. And even then, how many people held their nose and voted for the D ticket because they were sick of Republicans? His victory was hardly 'LOLRACIAL EQUALITY WEUR ALL K NAO' - just look at websites like stormfront.org that had to shut down new user registration on the night he was elected because of the mass influx of people attempting to sign on; I'll give you this, I bet a fair amount were people like me who were interested in what groups like Stormfront would be talking about over the next couple weeks after he won. Or the fact that racially focused hate groups (granted, they tend to be more focused on weeding out mexicans/others from south of the border than black folks) have had membership increase exponentially?

If anything, his victory only helped further the agenda of racial white supremacists/extremist racists.

Do you support the NAACP, Affirmative Action, Congressional Black Caucus or any other causes, groups and persons who champion specifically for Blacks? Is that not racist, as well?

I spent the majority of my military career working with black people. I probably would not have had the success I had without their support and friendship. Most of the really terrible racists jokes I heard about black people were the ones I heard from black people. I think we all know that "equality" is kind of a garbage pie-in-the-sky ideal that we haven't reached, and that there are still things some people can get away with that others can't. Blacks telling racially insensitive jokes that whites can't is just one example.

No, they're not. At least in the case of All-minus-Affirmative Action, which can be argued pretty convincingly either way. They provide blacks with a platform and funding and an audience.

One could say the GOP/D3C is the same for whites, though lately they've each been able to have their token black man.
