I have to carry a backpack with my work computer, various things for the weather (usually a lighter or heavier jacket or a rain coat, hat scarf gloves etc in the winter, umbrella), and various other things. Take it with me to work every day.

Obviously not as heavy as a child and I understand that, but at no point have I thought I'd rather push it around in front of me in a stroller.

Basically what I'm saying is get your baby some straps and wear them on your back.

LMAO, my point is imagine carrying a child on top of all of that. Not to mention if they are below the age of two most likely a diaper bag of some sort.

Lol

The items on today's menu for people of the metro area is a pair of Puerto Ricans who got on at the station after mine. These guys radiated cheap, untested thuggery like you wouldn't believe. They spent the entirety of their trip deep in conversation, which according to my careful eavesdropping was about money and girlfriends, but consisted mostly of "know what I'm sayin'" and "___ that shit" and "nigga." I mentioned in another thread that if black people can use "nigger" then anyone can, but this was excessive to the point of making Samuel L Jackson's vocabulary and delivery sound like a classically-trained English actor's in comparison.

The guy doing more of the talking was holding a Dunkin Donuts mug to go along with all the thuggery and that one white zipper jacket every aspiring fake gangbanger wears. I could probably have beaten these guys in a knife fight, and I've never used a knife for anything but cutting food and whittling. And boating.

I also encountered a scooter-fatty sporting a particularly excellent hat.

There's a guy that wheels around on a scooter near where I work that wears an eye patch and a goatee that can only be described as dastardly.

Also he is completely insane.

I wish to contribute to this thread.

So I was driving home today and I always get stuck at this one particular intersection about 4 blocks from my house because the idiot in front of me will never be pulled up quite far enough to let me squeeze into the turn lane. So today, as expected, this happens. The minivan in front of me is about 2 feet too far back to allow me to get into the turn lane without hitting the concrete median. So I sit there, upset because there is obviously enough room between him and the next car to just scoot up some and let me pass. The light turns green, and this minivan asshat ends up not going straight in his lane, but merging over to turn left in the turn lane! He could have moved into that lane at ANY time during that red light and allowed me and the car behind me to be in that lane the whole time. Instead, he decides he wants to turn and makes us all miss the light again. I hate people.

Also I have a very hard time understanding how a 4-way stop can be such a mentally exhausting situation for so many people. I want to punch babies every time 4 cars pull up and none of them understand how to fucking get through it.

4-way stops are like a test of who is the alpha-male among you.

You don't wait for the right of way to be given, you take it!

.......

But only because so many people have no fucking clue how it's supposed to work, you might as well.

I have a little girl who is almost 5 and still rides in the stroller from time to time. It just depends on where we are going. If we are heading to Disneyland the girls go in the double stroller and the baby goes in a single. If it is just me, I put the 2 youngest (1 & almost 3) in the stroller and the 4.5 year old walks. Really though, she can only walk for an hour before she is exhausted and I end up having to carry her.

I can't really comment on the bottle thing. None of my kids ever used a bottle. I stopped nursing the girls around 16 months (because I got pregnant) and I'll try to keep it up with the baby until he is 2 (the recommended min. age by the WHO).

Seriously though, until you have kids, you don't realize how important strollers can be.

This.

Plus, kids require so much shit when you take them anywhere for any length of time. At least one medium bag full of necessities and "just in case" items. The stroller carries the children AND their required shit. If you carry the kid, you've got to also carry their stuff. For much of a child's life until 5-ish, strollers might be optional, but the alternatives suck.

Oh i had imagined some fat kid who can't get out of a chair without getting winded.

Half the time i see healthy kids out with mom or dad, they're pushing their own stroller.

Kids(normal kids) like doing shit for themselves cuz its new and exciting.

If you did not have the luxury of strollers, I think you would find that the word "can" is very flexible.

When I was 5 I was working in the coal mines of Victorian England. Kids these days are so coddled.

They do that here all the fucking time. Also, we have sensors in some of our lights that don't trip unless you pull all the way up to the line, and you'll sit there forever behind some dumb ass who won't pull all the way up.

People here also do this weird thing where you'll be coming up behind them, and you're doing like 10 mph more than they are, but as soon as they realized they're being passed, they speed up. I've never seen that anywhere else I've ever lived. It's border-line psychotic. I usually have the cruise control on, so I know I'm not imagining shit.
