That is an effect I commonly have on others. It generally doesn't work over the interwebs, though.

It's not that hard to level, especially once you buy the heirloom armors. You really only need to get the cloth caster stuff, the leather dps, mail dps, and plate dps. Since healing in WotLK was stand way back and toss heals, and all the caster gear was essentially the same, you weren't losing anything by using it on everything from priests on up the armor tree to holy paladin. That's probably going to change a bit now with 4.0, since you get the bonus for wearing the appropriate armor class.

I didn't bother buying any heirloom weapons, especially since the paladin is (was?) a weaponsmith BS (they took profession specializations out, apparently, so some of those patterns are no longer available for training), and I could craft decent weapons for everything if I didn't get any good drops.

I missed a great deal by leveling multiple alts and not concentrating on one character, though, since I didn't do much raiding (my schedule didn't allow for it most of the time) and everything I spent any time with is either in all PvP gear or a mix of badge and PvP crap. The most I did with raiding was a few bosses in Ulduar across a few characters...and that was "months behind."

I did have a generally good time doing stuff with Zaryi and Brawlsack and a few others from the boards here, and some other friends who would invite me to do weeklies and OS drake runs. Not to mention late night arena fun on my paladin with Mayumi.
