i would bring your attention to the zoolander theorem, "moisture is the essence of wetness." moisture is water. ergo, water is the essence of wetness.
by saying "water is wet", i am not saying "water is covered in water" although that is also in a sense true. i'm saying that you cannot have wetness without water (or liquid). water IS wet. without water, there is no wet.
it's a much deeper, more existential statement about the fluid than you realize.
now, obviously i am taking poetic license by summarizing all liquid in it's most common form, that of water. but i think i am allowed a bit of poetic license for such a deep, philosophical pondering.
