that's in bad taste actually. stephen king was actually hit by a van while walking near his home in maine. it crippled him, turned him into an alcoholic and addicted to pain killers. although, it also helped him wrap up the Dark Tower series.
He's also a jerk. I grew up in the Bangor area, which is where king lives. The media hayday when it happened was sickening, and King was kind of a douche about the whole thing.
I mean yea, he got hit by a van, but he complained when the driver's 6 month jail sentence was suspended, and also essentially demanded that they revoke his license entirely, saying "There isn't really anything that he's got that I want except his license. Unfortunately that's a paper that's very hard to get away from anybody in any state."
Yea the dude was careless, and was distracted by his dog in the van, which is stupid, but nobody gets crucified this way for an accident... unless you hit stephen king, a vengeful old bastard.
Oh, and the guy that hit him, ODed on perscription painkillers and died.
