Every time a man sticks his sausage in another man's ham, our world takes another step towards oblivion. Remember that next time you're tempted to do so.

The practice of men screwing men is a conspiracy that pervades every element of our society and political system. It is eminently apparent.

Alright so the event finally happened after 8 pages of shenanigans, and for the most part, I was surprised. Mostly due to the fact that their points were argued extremely well and they were extremely mild mannered, also because her 2 daughters were not "grenades" (my roomates terminology not mine).

Additional shit i learned:
11 kids in total
She was 1 of 12 kids, 11 of which are lawyers
Their firm has represented Homosexuals and other clients of that nature
Even when having a mild mannered discussion with college students, Some kids can just be giant dicks and ruin the entire event

Overall, it was okay didn't really sway me to her side of the battle but for the most part i guess i learned that their beliefs really aren't as extreme as previously believed. I was thoroughly enjoying the visit until the Q&A section where people began to harass her, her daughters and her beliefs, and it got relatively awkward when a 81 yr old marine began questioning the entire "Thank God for Dead Soldiers" and "Thou shall not kill" with her.
But stepping away from that, the 2 individuals who sat behind me who spent the entire time talking to each other ("I can't believe she said that", "What a self righteous bitch", etc.), and the last person to ask a question who instead inserted 3 statements harassing her, her beliefs and attempting to berate her on having a child out of wedlock and preaching against such a thing, the visit went well.

TLDR: It was okay, most of the people in the room (despite being journalism students) had extreme bias against her and her beliefs, and spent the Q&A section harassing her.

Kinda made me question if going into this event Switzerland (in order to fully understand both sides) was the right thing to do.

Also i have a 70 minute long audio recording of the event if i can find some place to host it.

Thanks for making me spit Diet Dew out of my nose, you bastich!!

Journalists (even the student ones) are people. People are bias. The idea that someone who majors in journalism or is employed as a journalist is less biased/unbiased is ridiculous. The bias comes dripping through your average media article like juice from squeezed fruit...whether it's OMFGTeaPartyEVIL Foxnews, Thrillupmyleg MSNBC or anything in between. For example, when I read the word "radical" in front of anything regarding either Dem legislation or the Tea Party. There's nothing really 'radical' about either. Show me a politician with eating babies in his platform, and you might have something. If there's no delicious smoked baby involved, keep your fucking BIASED opinion to yourself, Mr. and Mrs. Journalism, and leave the word "radical" for campaign commercials where it belongs.

Also...google articles about SUV incident/accidents. In the majority of those, you'll find the way the pieces are written makes it sound like the vehicle acted of its own accord.

Journalists are just as ridiculous and sorry as everyone else.

Jubber

Wasn't really the word i was looking for....perhaps respect? I dunno, i went into that meeting well prepared for the speaker in both terms and history of their actions, and yet found myself surrounded by individuals who (despite being the future journalists of america) took no insight into researching these people. And if by some chance they did research them, it was more to berate them on their false comings in life than to hold a intellectual argument.

Perhaps the point i took from this is that College students now a day seem to have less respect for guest speakers who may hold controversial views, and instead of listening to what said speaker has to say about said thing, they block out what the speaker is attempting to defend or reject and instead wait until they've stopped talking to attempt to correct them and then either verbally assault them based upon their stance or based on their response.

Perhaps going into a discussion with the idea of "This person is going to talk about 1st amendment rights" (which a majority of her talking was about) versus "This person's beliefs and standards I disagree with, I'm just here to protest" was the real difference here.

And to those individuals who would do such a thing, despite the person talking or how controversial the matter is: FUCK YOU, I attended the event with the sole purpose of attempting to relate with what they were saying and attempting to get an insight into who they are. But if you think of yourself and your cause so highly that instead of joining the protest that was going on outside the building, you feel you must insult and berate a person who took time out of their day in order to discuss their standards and beliefs with you, you are a sad sad sad person.

Basically Jubber, i may have misused the word "bias" in this situation and probably would have been better off using respect or something.

I think it would be fair to assume that the students would attempt to be unbiased. If anything this would be the perfect place to work on ensuring you've not tainted the story.

While simply berating her would be bad taste, I feel it would be entirely appropriate to ask how she reconciles some of the horrible things she says and promotes while at the same time breaking other rules of the bible. If god hates fags would he not hate all shrimp/crab/lobster-eaters, for these are also all abominations? Why was she not stoned for being a non-virgin on her wedding night (o.k. now my bias is showing). I would be interested in the answer to such a question, not because it is intended to trip her up or make her look the fool, but because I don't really see how intelligent people can make such illogical leaps.

SORRY I COULDN'T HEAR THE POINT YOU WERE MAKING OVER ALL THE STUDENTS PURPOSELY YELLING SO THAT NO ONE CAN HEAR WHAT YOU'RE SAYING.

Colleges are not the sanctum of free and open debate they are supposed to be, and I blame most of that on the inmates running the asylum (i.e.: University Staff). Some people don't want dissenting opinions aired, and encourage others to shut down "the opposition," it's a shame so many of those people hold advanced degrees.

The dietary rules of the Old Testament don't apply to Christians. I don't remember chapter and verse, but there's a whole deal (I think involving John the Baptist) about how if it's there in front of you, God has no problem with you eating it.
As for stoning, I believe the phrase uttered by The Man the whole religion is based around is something along the lines of "let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
Funny how it's easy to get down on Christians about being all fire and brimstone, but the minute people want to make digs at them, they reference the fire and brimstone and really bad things part of the Bible (the Old Testament).

Putting this bluntly, you never went to college and don't have the slightest clue what you're talking about.

Jubber has not gone to college but he's dead right. Completely.
