So this is the follow up I got from Blizzard about my email concering my account lock.
The system that locked the account temporarily is automated. There is very limited info I could provide for you other than what is presented on the security website. I can see that there does not appear to be any unauthorized access to the account during that period.
This comes accross as complete bullshit. They claim that they have no information as to why my account was locked, that is just plain funny. I am going back to the horde town I killed the flight master in to see if it happens again.
Yes, I am quoting myself.
I put a post up on the tech support forums and got a very quick response. There is a security tool in game that sees IP changes. This has been in place for years but was recently updated and apparently has a bug or two. When I was flying to Arathi one of our techs unplugged our primary dns server on accident. I did a dns flush and went back to mining, then the afternoons shenanigans ensued. Because the system saw my home IP last, then saw my work IP but it changed dns just a few minutes later, the security tool kicked in and locked the account to make sure it was me. If anyone else plays from multiple locations and has this happen, it is working as intended, just a bit too well in some cases.
