The NASA base is under complete lockdown right now.
In my office with the door closed/locked and the shades down.
Those were the directions given by the security team.

Apparently there is an "active shooter" in building 77.

Haha that's actually pretty funny that you say that since people on my team who were in that lab at the time when this was going down said to me "Everything is clear now. They caught the guy."

Then I hear from outside news sources that it was a "false alarm".

Loudspeakers have announced "all clear" and "the emergency is over" at an Ohio NASA center that had been locked down amid a report of a possible gunman.

Police say a lockdown and reports of a gunman at a NASA research facility in Cleveland resulted from a false alarm.

NASA spokeswoman Lori Rachul says: "There was not a shooting."

Lt. Don Michalosky with the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office says a message was misunderstood Friday morning while NASA was conducting a test of its automated emergency notification system. He says someone who received the message didn't realize it was a test.

Michalosky says he didn't know the specifics of the message but says a story spread that there was a gunman in the building.

An "all clear" announcement went out shortly before 11 a.m. at the sprawling NASA Glenn Research Center next to Cleveland's airport.

"Randy just went by and told everyone to lock their door and to stay in their room that there is a shooter"

"Subject: Tell everyone to say in the building"

"All Building Managers….send out this notice immediately to your buildings.
There is a security emergency taking place on the Lab. You are asked to stay in your building, office with the door locked and window shades closed, until further notice. This is a true emergency!"

1.5 hours later

"All clear, they caught the shooter. Hopefully no one was hurt"

4 minutes later

"Building 500 occupants

The security emergency situation was a false alarm. Please return to normal operation.

I personally did not see anything as I was following security protocol that the center has. But pretty crazy that I can't even get a straight story on this and I work here
