I eat animals because they're delicious. I support preserving wildlife because tigers are prettier than strip malls. I think pets are mostly a waste of time, but I don't support animal cruelty by pet owners because they made the effort/decision to pick up the animal in the first place and should have to deal humanely with their choices.

If I give you the choice of being let loose in the wild with either a tiger or a strip mall, I think your choices will be a lot different. You can either get a bite at the strip mall or be a bite for the tiger. Self-preservation says, "Fuck tigers."

Self-preservation said "fuck tigers" centuries ago, and we've had the tools to not be afraid of them for as long. My choice would be the same because at no point did I say anything about wanting to live there, I just don't want to see another fucking Starbucks/American Eagle/food court there.

Plus, there are less tigers in the world than there are smart people in the South.
