Not only is it not the "same thing," since my opinion of the Pauls is based on what Ron Paul has done and both he and his son say they're going to do and not on "Obama is historic," "he's black," and/or "this will assuage our white guild/end race tensions." In any case, it's hard to be an "apologist" for people who have yet to do anything wrong other than being in politics.

As far as "Change Zombies," it's funny that you'd bring that up in a thread with the phrase "passion is a poor substitute for intelligence."

I feel the same way about folks like Kucinich and Nader.

Rand is no Ron by any means; he has yet to prove himself. But he is a doctor and was up against a lawyer who has a record of acting like a liar and a jerk during the campaign. To call a Doctor a nutter right off the bat... I'd reserve that for people who have actually committed "nutter" actions. (it's definitely possible but we've yet to see)

"Nutter" is just code for "doesn't agree with me." If you don't agree with some "open-minded" people, they assume there is something wrong with you. It amuses me how some "tolerant and open-minded" people who "consider all opinions" can't accept that other people come to different conclusions after similar consideration unless they're somehow deficient.

You see, I lean left and will more likely vote democrat, but at least I acknowledge intelligent republicans, and I would have no problem voting for a republican if I believed they would actually stay centrist after they were elected.

Mayo's right, you're no better than any of the mindless followers from either party. If anything you're worse, until the tea party there was very little, if any, dissension in the republican party. Loyalty to what the party wants was more important than loyalty to one's constituents.

My opinion is that Rand Paul isn't much like his father aside from his religious beliefs, and strict adherence to religion (especially one of the three Abrahamic religions) is a VERY serious delusion that, in government, can compromise coherent decision-making. So in my opinion, he's a nutter.

Of course, that's just my opinion.

There's a difference between "considering all opinions" and "considering stuff that's plain wrong". Sure, we can argue about what shade of blue the sky is, but if you come up and say that the sky is green, nobody's going to take you seriously.

Also, you're sucking Rand's dick before he's even had a chance to do anything. How's being a "Paul Zombie" working out for you?

I don't mind Ron Paul for the most part. I don't like his foreign policy last time I checked... and I really question his want to dissolve the Federal Reserve and go back to the gold standard - is that even possible at this point with so much printed-out-of-thin-air cash in circulation?

(I don't know shit about his son's politics so I'll just have to sit back and wait a year or two.)
