LOL LOCKED THREAD

but in all seriousness, i wasnt aware that there is anything that needs to/can be done to a phpbb board that takes 1-1.5 hours

also, if you're going to be camping the admin panel for a while, look to see if you can upgrade to phpbb2 from there. if not, simply delete the .php files for this one, ftp the diff. version and point it to your database

Right now I have it so FUBU is a public board. To enforce read-only bans and allow people to still post on Meta Discussion, I'm going to have to make fubu private and manually give everyone access to it.

This also isn't my site, so I have no idea how phbb2 would work or how to even go about doing it.

At least in that manner, you can better control who is viewing the boards and/or know who is posting/viewing since they'll have to go through you to get permission.

that sounds like waaaaaaaaaay too much work
is there not an option to just create a group that would not have posting permissions and simply throw offenders into that?

I can't edit the forums at all unless I make them private. Then it would simply be easier to do it on an individual basis as opposed to getting everyone in a group, enabling that group, then transferring people to a timeout group and back again.

Is there any way we could get some sort of search function on this forum? I've tried to bring back threads before...but I get lazy after flipping through about 5 pages. The search function would be useful in this regard.

It's not the best, but it works for the most part.

Tables are in the DDL to the left. This should help in figuring it all out?
